I replied, "That's okay. Give me a minute to speak with my spouse If can proceed."

Consulting my husband wasn't about weakness; it was about honoring the role Allah has given him as the head of our home and preserving the values we strive to live by. There is a quiet peace in living by your principles, even in the smallest moments.
