A shocking murder case from Telangana has led to the arrest of five people, including a woman named Chandana and her boyfriend, Sheikh Sultan.

Deepti Banka, an engineer from Koratla in Jagtial district, was found dead in her home on August 29. According to police, Chandana—Deepti's younger sister—and Sultan were in a relationship and allegedly planned to steal cash and jewelry from the house.

Police say Chandana told Sultan about valuables kept at the home. On the night of August 28, Deepti was allegedly given a large amount of alcohol. When she fell asleep, Sultan entered the house. However, Deepti woke up while the theft was taking place.

Investigators allege that Chandana and Sultan then restrained Deepti, causing her death by suffocation. They allegedly removed the restraints afterward to make the death appear related to alcohol consumption and fled with cash and jewelry.

Within a few days, police arrested Chandana and Sultan while they were reportedly trying to leave the state. Sultan's mother, sister, and a friend were also arrested for their alleged involvement in the conspiracy.

The case has sparked strong reactions online. However, claims that it proves a broader conspiracy, "brainwashing," or "Love Jihad" remain matters of opinion and are not established by the police allegations in this case. The criminal investigation focuses on the individuals accused and the evidence against them.
