Not only has France assassinated 22 African leaders since 1960, it has also carried out coups in 26 African countries, and until very recently 14 African nations were being made to pay a colonial tax as reimbursement for not allowing the French to continue their colonial projects in those states. Yet the French wonder why there is still such disdain for them across the continent.

When the French were leaving their colonies in places like Guinea, they destroyed roads, schools, public administration buildings/ institutions; burned crops and books, destroyed medicines; killed off all livestock. Because none of that had been for the benefit of the locals but to aid their colonial project— they did not want them to ever have anything to gain from.
