@dead_baseball While both the salary cap and draft changes are obviously wage suppression moves by the owners, I feel there is a stronger “good for baseball” argument behind funneling star players into NCAA baseball. Boosting college baseball would raise the sport’s profile as a whole.

@Razorfin_Hunter Yeah, it’s just a logical impossibility. Giants traded Harrison and Tibbs for negative value. Even assuming zero return for Harrison and Tibbs, Red Sox come out ahead overall. Insane to see giants apologists claim Devers decline was unforeseeable.
@justalexoki Reason is the same for both. They were so obviously the best that it became the default, and over time people mistook their familiarity for blandness.
