True My Voice, in collaboration with Devex and the Gates Foundation, proudly presents Ominira, a powerful spoken word piece by Falade Kolawole (Pariolodo). This poem sheds light on the untold struggles of individuals affected by neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) across Yoruba-speaking communities in Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Sierra Leone, Brazil, and beyond.

Through vivid storytelling and traditional Yoruba proverbs, Ominira exposes the deep stigma and devastating impact of diseases like lymphatic filariasis (elephantiasis)—conditions that steal dreams, limit opportunities, and push the most vulnerable further into the shadows.

But this poem is more than just words—it is a movement. Ominira calls on us to break the silence, challenge misconceptions, and push for change. By combining education, grassroots activism, and scientific innovation, we can rewrite the narrative and ensure that no one is left behind.

Join us in amplifying this conversation. Let’s confront neglect, inspire action, and bring hope to those who need it most.
