Imagine being a PhD student at this time. As if life isn't difficult enough. Now if you give a talk at a conference, and someone posts it online, Open AI might publish something before you. Like wtf ! The people who are defending this disgusts me.

@rodmigor @Eremitionskies Sure and if someone explains his/her ideas to you , what they are working on etc in a conference and you go back and write a paper on it using his/her method, you wouldn't call it a bad faith act ?

@rodmigor @Eremitionskies I am not trying to be a bad faith commentator. I am actually pro AI use in math. But I also want to maintain the norms we have been maintaining in the community. If a PhD student is working on a small problem, I don't know any professor who would ask their students to work on...

How I reached there, what I tried, what I want to try. Everything is immaterial. For the AI gods only the truth value matter. Hate is a strong word and I absolutely hate these people. They stand for everything I learnt not to fall for.

What a sad day. I am struggling to keep my hopes up and I am not even anti AI. But I am anti mass producing slops for humans to digest and verify. My friend from symplectic geometry told me the the problem sessions in a conference are cancelled because they are scared.

As a community we were not perfect. But I still loved being in this community. I was always taught to be curious and patient. Looks like I have to be exactly opposite to survive this mass dump. No communication, just drop it on the arxiv and don't talk about it.
