“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him."
I hate to break it to you but we’d screw this up too. Everything we hate we’d just take with us and eventually it would be an interplanetary bureaucracy whining about galactic warming.
True abundance and adventure and growth will come under the rule of King Jesus after the second coming of Christ. Because we have a sin problem. That’s the true root of our misery. And guess what? Rockets don’t fix it.
@zuess05 It’s not production ready. Give me a break. Does the 19 yo know how to prompt AI and then follow up with it as it sets up CI/CD? Tests? Secret handling? Version control merge permissions?
This is just AI generated click bait.
@KPKBaltimore Haven’t written in months. I put several months into trying to do “marketing” and got almost nothing out of it. Then I spent a while working on AI. Trying to get up to speed on it because in about four more days here I need to start looking for a new software development job. :/
@Riftwalkergame I will, but it’s going to be in my spare time now. Sadly. I think if I put my book out there and it gets 0 sale… ugh. 😣
I spent months of long days and nights on it. I traded time with family for it. I could have just spent that year playing with my kids.
Yeah somehow my memory of the internet back when I was a kid was different. It’s changed. All corporate gloss.
Anyway, I hope you’re doing okay man. You’ve got a cool game there. It seems like you’ve got some decent traction. I’m sad to hear X keeps cutting your reach.
Let me know if I can help somehow.
Sorry, was taking my daughter to art school. 🏫 Anyway, yeah, I agree. When I come to X it feels like a soulless blackhole. The next dopamine hit.
I came here hoping to find fans who would see what I’m working on and be interested. I thought the images I was creating for the scenes in my book were pretty cool.
But all I got was marketers and cover designers and bots and ghosts who never show up.
I pivoted. I was like… guess no one cares. I’m going to try the values angle. I’m making stuff for men. Stuff I as a guy would like to read because correct Christian fiction is all Hallmark stuff.
The X algo didn’t agree.
Even the marketers stopped seeing my stuff. X just decided on its own that no one would be interested in that and I know it’s crap because people at church actually are.
So … I don’t know..
I’m out of time though, I have to go crawling back to software engineering and hope someone out there still will pay decent money for it in 2026.
Otherwise I don’t know man. I kind of just feel like becoming a farmer and never touching a computer again xD 🤣
@Riftwalkergame@DeadhausGame Does AI help at all? Maybe not at the core of it, but on the side? Sometimes I wonder if it's actually just a distraction.
It's got to be possible to design an algorithm that optimizes for people, right? I was thinking about it. Maybe it could decide which posts to show based on relationship continuity or something and expand outward from there.
So it's like when you first join, it keeps showing your posts to the same small crew of people over and over, so that there are real connections that form. Maybe it can swap out people from your "crew" to optimize for who actually wants to see your stuff?
Imagine you've only got 1000 followers, but 800 of them actually buy your game and respond when you post. I think I'd trade that for 100,000 X followers any day.
Then your crew sort of accumulates over time, favoring a smaller core number of deep bonds as the foundation. So your feed is a mix of core "crew" posts mixed with larger accounts for interests-based stuff.
Maybe ever federated so you actually own the audience you build, and no one can ban you.
I don't know.
The problem is, it doesn't matter. Someone could build this, and no one would come. Network effects make it impractical.
