Even Non CAs are performing audits.Look at the fixed term hires at Big 4s and other firms.Being a CA only gives you signing authority.Its very important to upskill being a CA and built some sort of knowledge base and research which is difficult to replace.

Just being a CA and doing audits may help you in working for an audit firm.If that's what your goal is and it matches your personality then go for it by all means.
