Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain, #VCOAS, visited Ordnance Factory, Khamaria and reviewed the ongoing initiatives undertaken by the establishment to meet the operational and logistical requirements of the Indian Army. He also assessed the various initiatives towards promoting #Atmanirbharta and strengthening the defence industrial ecosystem.

The #VCOAS also visited Headquarters Madhya Bharat Area and reviewed the Formation’s operational readiness, specialised Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief #HADR preparedness, training and ongoing infrastructure development initiatives. He, later visited Military College of Material Management, Jabalpur, where he reviewed the institution’s preparedness, training and infrastructure development.

The #VCOAS commended the high standards of professionalism and technological innovation. He exhorted all ranks to maintain the highest standards of combat proficiency and remain prepared to meet emerging and future challenges.

5th India-Russia Army Land System Sub-Group Meeting

The 5th India-Russia Army Land System Sub-Group (ALSSG) meeting under the aegis of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Military & Military Technical Cooperation (IRIGC-M&MTC) is being held in New Delhi. The four-day engagement from 04–07 Aug 2026 aims to further strengthen the longstanding bilateral defence partnership between the two nations.

Lt Gen Rahul R Singh, DCOAS (CD&S), led the Indian delegation. Maj Gen Tufekchi Aleksandr, Deputy Head of the Main Armoured Directorate, Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, headed the Russian delegation. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing mutual trust and advancing Defence Industrial and Technological Cooperation.

While interacting with Commanders and all Ranks, #COAS reaffirmed that operational preparedness, adaptability and self-reliance remain the bedrock of military effectiveness. #COAS further emphasised that a technologically empowered and future-ready #IndianArmy will continue to safeguard national interests while contributing to the vision of #ViksitBharat2047.

In recognition of their exemplary contributions to social service, education, healthcare, environment, agriculture, sports and veteran welfare, #GeneralDhirajSeth, #COAS, felicitated four distinguished Veterans with the Yoddha Seva Samman, #YSS during his visit to Lucknow.

The Yoddha Seva Samman embodies the enduring spirit of a Yoddha - one whose values, selfless service and unwavering commitment to the Nation continue long after active military service.

Major General Harsh Kakar (Retd) was honoured for his distinguished contributions to National Security and strategic thought. Following an illustrious military career, including service in United Nations peacekeeping missions, he continues to strengthen strategic discourse as Founder Member and Vice Chairman of STRIVE India through his writings, lectures and strategic insights.

Colonel Arvind Singh Kushwaha (Retd) was recognised for his outstanding contributions to healthcare and medical education. He played a pivotal role in the establishment of #AIIMSNagpur, strengthened COVID-19 management in #Maharashtra, and contributed significantly to the development of medical colleges in #ArunachalPradesh, continuing his lifelong service to society.

Naib Subedar Radhey Shyam (Retd) was felicitated for his exceptional humanitarian service. Through his personal initiative and resources, he established an old-age home providing shelter, food and medical care to ex-servicemen, war widows and the underprivileged. His selfless service has earned him widespread recognition and several prestigious honours.

Risaldar Major (Honorary Captain) Vijay Kumar (Retd) was honoured for his outstanding contribution to veteran welfare and youth empowerment. By establishing a Sainik Library and Motivation Centre with his own resources, he has provided free career guidance, study material and computer training, empowering numerous youth and ex-servicemen to pursue meaningful careers and brighter futures.

Air Marshal Tejpal Singh, AVSM, VM assumed the appointment of Deputy Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force today. Commissioned on 16 Jun 1990 as a fighter pilot, the Air Marshal has over 3500 hours of flying experience. He is a Cat A Qualified Flying Instructor and an Experimental Test Pilot. The Air Marshal has held various key operational, command and staff appointments in the Indian Air Force.

Indian Army Pays Solemn Tribute

The last rites of General Vishwa Nath Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, former #COAS of #IndianArmy, were conducted with full Military Honours in New Delhi today.

Hon'ble Governor of Mizoram, @Gen_VKSingh, former Service Chiefs, the three serving Service Chiefs, senior military leadership and civil dignitaries paid their heartfelt tributes to the former #COAS.

Veterans, serving personnel and citizens from all walks of life also gathered to pay their final respects to one of the Indian Army's most distinguished leaders.

#GeneralDhirajSeth, #COAS, today launched Xtreme Weather Grade (XWG) Diesel, an indigenous innovation developed jointly by the Indian Army and Oil Marketing Companies. Designed for reliable performance in extreme cold, the specialised fuel remains effective at temperatures as low as Minus 42°C, preventing fuel waxing and gelling to ensure enhanced mobility, safety and operational readiness of combat and logistics vehicles in high-altitude terrain.

Compliant with BS-VI and IS 1460:2025 standards, XWG Diesel is fully compatible with the Indian Army's existing vehicle fleet, requiring no engine modifications or re-homologation. Beyond strengthening operational capability in extreme climatic conditions, the technology also offers significant civilian applications in high-altitude and severe winter regions, marking another important milestone in indigenous innovation and advancing the vision of #AtmanirbharBharat.
