100 سال میں پہلی بار! سائبیریا کے پرندوں کی جنت نمل جھیل خشک ہو گئی، کیا اب بھی ہم خاموش رہیں گے؟

پاکستان کے ضلع میانوالی کے پہاڑوں کے دامن میں واقع نمل جھیل کبھی قدرت کا ایک شاہکار تھی۔ یہاں ہر سال ہزاروں مہاجر پرندے، خصوصاً سائبیریا سے آنے والے آبی پرندے اترتے تھے۔ یہ جھیل نہ صرف میانوالی کی پہچان تھی بلکہ مقامی آبادی، ماحولیات اور سیاحت کیلئے ایک قیمتی اثاثہ بھی تھی۔
آج صورتحال انتہائی افسوسناک ہے۔ ایک صدی سے زائد عرصہ تک زندگی سے بھرپور رہنے والی یہ جھیل موسمیاتی تبدیلی، پانی کے بہاؤ میں کمی، ماحولیاتی انحطاط اور کیچمنٹ ایریا میں انسانی مداخلت کے باعث خشک ہونے کے دہانے پر پہنچ چکی ہے۔ بعض رپورٹس کے مطابق جھیل کا رقبہ 5.5 مربع کلومیٹر سے سکڑ کر تقریباً 2.2 مربع کلومیٹر رہ گیا ہے۔

یہ صرف میانوالی کا مسئلہ نہیں، بلکہ پاکستان کے ماحولیاتی مستقبل کا سوال ہے۔
ہم مطالبہ کرتے ہیں کہ:
✅ نمل جھیل کی بحالی کیلئے ہنگامی ایکشن پلان بنایا جائے۔
✅ کیچمنٹ ایریا میں پانی کی قدرتی گزرگاہوں کو بحال کیا جائے۔
✅ غیر قانونی رکاوٹوں اور منی ڈیمز کا جائزہ لیا جائے۔
✅ جھیل کو قومی ماحولیاتی ورثہ قرار دے کر تحفظ فراہم کیا جائے۔
✅ بین الاقوامی ماحولیاتی ادارے اس ماحولیاتی بحران کا نوٹس لیں۔

اگر آج نمل جھیل کو نہ بچایا گیا تو آنے والی نسلیں صرف تصویروں میں اس حسن کو دیکھیں گی۔
