At Blue Vision Labs, we built an early working version of this AR rider/driver pick-up scenario back in 2018. Getting both user and driver to localise in real-time and remain synchronised in an urban setting was a non-trivial eng task.

Great to finally see this AR use case nearing production. Helps to solve customer pains in terms of vehicle identification especially in busy environments such as at airports, concerts, and shopping centres. #augmentedreality

Great to see @pizzahut still using AR on physical products!
Reminds me of the time at @blippar when we built an AR activation with X-Men content on top of their boxes - back when you didn’t need to scan a QR code to access content.

Pizza Hut partnered with Pac-Man for a limited-edition "playable" Pac-Man box. Simply order a large pizza and scan the #QRcode on the box to play—no app needed.
You Can Play #PacMan on #PizzaHut’s New Box Thanks to #AugmentedReality https://t.co/TIVE4zE8Ae #WebAR#WebXR
Yes indeed 💪
"Expect to see many computer vision startups among the next generation of unicorns. A crop of high-growth computer vision companies is nearing an inflection point, poised to break out to commercial scale and mainstream prominence"

With a semantic understanding of 3D environments, we have the ability to inform our characters of the world we live in. This allows them to understand the contours of their environments. Learn more as we take one step closer to truly augmenting reality ⛲

Excellent overview of all the exciting work taking place at our @LyftLevel5 autonomous division.
One key takeaway:
Lyft operates the largest public self-driving commercial program in the US, having completed over 75,000 rides⚡️🚀

Indoor AR navigation is finally here!
We’ve spent the past year developing foundational technology and UX, to build a navigation experience which is simple to understand, and feels like magic.
Weve written a case study to explain how it all works.

@kocienda@nsnorth Superb advice Ken, thanks so much for sharing! People greatly underestimate the amount of effort required to deliver an engaging talk.
Every good talk needs these factors optimised: content, storytelling, slide design, pacing, length, verbal comms, non-verbal comms, enthusiasm.
@mattwichrowski@Scape Hmm seems like I’m not the only one that needed clarification on this 😆
How are you @mattwichrowski defining 100 cities as “mapped”?
@TweetEdMiller@Scape I ask because the title of the article “Scape decided to 3D-map over 100 cities worldwide” implies you’ve built a 3D map for each of those 100 cities. In reality you have 2D datasets of these cities and a handful of small practical 3D maps for a few cities (London & LA).
So would have preferred @ft use their time to have a deeper discussion with Evan Spiegel about Snap’s future for AR and resulting impact on biz models, user privacy, Snap Maps and Spectacles than include the Nando’s waffle in this article
https://t.co/fa75Kq3QTN
Looking at @Snapchat Spectacles data available for the 3 gen of models, lots of interesting discussion points esp: increasing unit price (despite young demographic), decreasing unit orders & Spiegel’s dogged persistence with the product against senior Snap execs advice
Then there’s also the fact that Snap’s largest investors Tencent released an identical Spectacles product albeit primarily for China
