@dullstar74 @soledadobrien The evolutionary imperative is only to spread. A variant could be more or less lethal, so long as it spreads. We’ve been mostly lucky, but if we allow a virus to mutate endlessly, we increase the possibility of a variant that can spread AND be more lethal.
