6 months after NEET-SS results, thousands of doctors remain unemployed due to delayed counselling.
If not resolved urgently,a national wide doctor’s strike may become inevitable.
Urgent intervention is needed!!!!!

Months of delay.
Thousands of aspiring super-specialists left waiting.
Hospitals waiting for future manpower.
Careers placed on hold.
If a doctor can be questioned for delays affecting patients, why should those responsible for prolonged administrative delays face no accountability?
As a matter of public accountability, Health Minister @JPNadda should explain this delay—or consider whether continuing in office without answers is justified.

Read it and understand the pain of nearly 7000 qualified doctors who worked hard till date, studied for the competitive exam, qualified it and still sitting at home since 3 months because of system failure to conduct a proper counselling.
@PMOIndia@JPNadda@MoHFW_INDIA@NMC_IND
Governance failure by @MoHFW_INDIA@CMOTamilnadu@JPNadda@BJP4India@PMOIndia why there is a gap between exam and counseling by more than 6 months every year in every NEET exam. Even after 6 months of NEETSS2025 exam we dont know when the counseling will resume. Accountability0
Good morning everyone!
I'm a NEET SS aspirant. At this point, I'm not preparing for counselling anymore. I'm preparing for retirement.
People ask me, "What's your rank?"
Brother, rank is temporary. Counselling delay is eternal.
We gave the exam, got the results, checked the seat matrix, studied the prospectus, refreshed MCC website 500 times a day. At this point, I know the MCC homepage better than my own family members.
My screen time report says I've spent 12 hours on MCC website.
MCC website says, "No update."
What a beautiful relationship. One-sided, toxic, and impossible to leave.
Every morning starts the same way.
Wake up.
Check MCC.
No update.
Lunch.
Check MCC.
No update.
Dinner.
Check MCC.
No update.
At this point, the only thing moving faster than counselling is my hairline.
Then someone says, "Don't worry, the matter is under consideration."
Under consideration?
I've seen less consideration in arranged marriages.
The counselling schedule has become like a Netflix series.
Every week: "New update coming soon."
Season finale: "To be continued..."
And these 151 seats!
I've never seen 151 seats become more famous than the candidates themselves.
People outside medicine ask:
"How many seats are involved?"
I say:
"151."
They say:
"Only 151?"
I say:
"Yes. But these are not seats. These are mythical creatures. Everyone talks about them. Nobody can actually see them."
The funniest part is the uncertainty.
Nobody knows anything.
Students ask seniors.
Seniors ask lawyers.
Lawyers ask officials.
Officials ask committees.
Committees ask for time.
Time is the only thing being allotted successfully.
My parents ask me:
"When is counselling?"
I tell them:
"Excellent question. Please ask the next speaker."
At this point, even Google has given up.
Search:
"NEET SS counselling update."
Google replies:
"Brother, if you find out, tell me too."
The best thing about this entire process is that everyone agrees on one thing:
The students are the only people who have absolutely no control over anything and yet somehow experience 100% of the stress.
That's efficiency.
Thank you, and if any counselling update comes while I'm on stage, please don't tell me.
I want to enjoy these last few moments of peace.
Disclaimer: Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, committees, departments, websites, portals, notifications, corrigenda, addenda, schedules, revised schedules, or further revised schedules is purely coincidental. 😄

NEET-SS 2025 results came out on 23 January. It's now June, and Round 2 counselling is still frozen.
Thousands of qualified super-specialty doctors are waiting - no joining, no timeline.
A thread on what's actually happening, and what must change. 🧵
The timeline:
• Exam: 26–27 Dec 2025
• Result: 23 Jan 2026
• Round 1 allotment: 18 Mar
• Round 2: put on hold in April, "until further notice"
• Today: still no Round 2, no joining
Nearly five months since results.
Why it stalled: a dispute over 151 vacant DM/MCh seats in Tamil Nadu, tied to a Supreme Court case -Tamilvani & Ors. vs State of Tamil Nadu.
Those unfilled seats became the single knot the entire national counselling is stuck on.
But the Court has already acted.
On 29 May 2026, the Supreme Court directed Tamil Nadu to inform the DGHS about those 151 seats, so they could enter the All-India counselling.
Yet on 6 June, MCC said Round 2 still remains on hold.
By its own account, MCC wrote to Tamil Nadu to revert the seats, got no timely response, and is now "exploring legal remedies."
The human cost is concrete.
There should be a concret rule regarding the timeframes for these exams.
Candidates allotted seats in Round 1 who opted for upgradation can't join even their existing seats. Many resigned senior residencies and salaries for those seats and now sit in limbo.
The asks are reasonable:
1. Resume Round 2 with a published timeline
2. Bring the 151 TN seats into AIQ, per the Court's direction
@MoHFW_INDIA@JPNadda@OfficeofJPNadda
CC @FAIMA_INDIA_
candidates deserve clarity and a timeline. Not silence.

India's super-specialist doctors, MS and MD and DNB holders who cleared one of the most brutal exams in the country, are sitting at home. Unemployed. With no idea when their training begins.
NEET SS 2025 results came in January. Round 1 counselling finished. Round 2 was scheduled for April 7. On April 24, MCC froze choice filling "until further orders." And that's where thousands of careers have been stuck ever since.
The reason? 151 vacant DM/MCh seats in Tamil Nadu. The Supreme Court directed Tamil Nadu to inform DGHS about these unfilled seats. MCC wrote to the state asking for them to be reverted so counselling could resume. No response. Even a personal letter from the MCC Chairman to the Principal Secretary of Health in Tamil Nadu. Still nothing.
Round 2 has been pushed from April 7 to May 4, then to July 28. It is June 8th today. No date in sight. The academic session that was supposed to begin April 10 has not started.
Candidates who are currently unemployed are facing real financial strain. Schedules disrupted, career progression derailed. These are people who spent the better part of a decade studying. Future cardiologists, neurosurgeons, oncologists. Just waiting.
And it is not only about them. Every delay deepens the shortage in Cardiology, Critical Care, Neurology, Neonatology, Oncology. Departments that are already critically short on specialists. Patients are on the other side of this mess too.
Ask who is responsible and responsibility vanishes. NTA, NMC, NBE, MCC, each one points to the other. Legal constraints. Technical issues. The other agency. Students get a blame game and a generic notice telling them to check the website.
The solution is not complicated. Isolate the 151 disputed seats, resume counselling for everything else, give a real timeline. The machinery to do this exists. It is just not being used.
India puts its doctors through years of sacrifice and asks them to keep going. The least the system owes them is a straight answer.

"Filing a Review Petition Does Not Excuse Non-Compliance With Court Orders."
Unless an order is stayed or set aside, it remains binding and must be implemented. Rule of law demands compliance, not delay through procedural tactics.

NEET SS 2025 delays have left thousands of doctors unemployed & jeopardized next admission cycle. An entire academic year is at stake.
Don't force doctors to be on the streets for what is rightfully theirs.

You think NEET UG is the worst planned exam ever ?
Wait till you hear about what NEET SS (Super-speciality) aspirants are facing where their counselling is delayed for 3 month leaving them hanging and unemployed
The health ministry is in as worst state as education ministry !

Round-2 counselling still ON HOLD ⏳
▪️ SC directed TN to revert 151 vacant SS (DM/MCh) seats
▪️ TN instead filed a REVIEW PETITION (4 June)
▪️ #MCC now exploring legal remedies
The wait continues for thousands of aspirants 🩺

Postponing NEET SS Round 2 for the entire country due to the unresolved status of 151 seats in Tamil Nadu is neither necessary nor fair. Don’t delay an entire national counselling process when a practical solution already exists. #NEETSS@narendramodi@JPNadda@DghsIndia
