Yes, I feel the director is genuinely underappreciated here. I agree that Anirudh is taking most of the appreciation, and honestly, he deserves every bit of it. 🔥

But let’s not forget that it’s the director who wrote and chose these scenes, crafted the screenplay, and ultimately decided how and where the songs should be placed.

When Anirudh released the entire soundtrack way before the film’s release, honestly, we all wondered why he had given such fantastic tunes to what seemed like a mid-content film.

To add to that, the promotions were almost nil. We were literally praying for at least decent content that would do justice to the blockbuster music.

But to everyone’s surprise, the scenes and screenplay were executed so brilliantly that we ended up falling in love with the entire cinema, not just the music. ❤️

More importantly, the casting, staging, shot-making, costumes, lighting, camera angles, violent frames, slow-motion shots, bloodshed and payoffs - every single element showcases director’s class.

My personal favourite character, and the one where the director’s brilliance is most evident, is definitely ASHRAF. The way this character is written and seamlessly moulded into the screenplay is simply awe. ❤️
