@Carnage4Life Another possible take from GM dropping Carplay & Auto is the failure of Big Tech to produce a competitive alternative to the Tesla OS - leading to OEMs attempting to create their own
@GergelyOrosz And as they use custom android, combined with non-google play app stores (a few exist specifically targeting cars), distribution of general android based apps is still possible
@GergelyOrosz Most OEMs already build infotainment systems off of custom android, so making their own OS without the tradeoffs of a one size fit all approach from google/apple (which are yet to prove they're capable of building one) *could* be quite beneficial and lead to much better UX
@fuserleer@Twitter Or would the company building 'twitter' pay for the transaction costs, and carry on selling data? So everything remains free from the user perspective. Only change is the infrastructure of a web app
@fuserleer@Twitter Really cool! How would a decentralised web app like this work in terms of cost?
From a user perspective the web is free at the moment (minus selling your data) - if a user were to use a decentralised twitter run by cassandra transactions, what would it theoretically cost them?
