@BrianRSolomon I remember watching this episode of Superstars. In Toronto, we got 2 different versions of Superstars. The local one was called Maple Leaf Wrestling on CHCH-Hamilton at 11am on Saturdays. The US syndicated version of Superstars followed on the Fox affiliate WUTV-Buffalo at 1pm.
@Eromina_Mutairu This tells me you are not aware of wrestling history, which is OK. Bobo Brazil would absolutely be number one, Abdullah the Butcher would follow, Ron Simmons as the first heavyweight champion of the major promotions of his time, then maybe The Rock.
@PuckPedia “His family was criticized” and “he was carjacked in Toronto”. you can see where some of Mitch’s talking points come from. People criticized his play in the playoffs & comments in the media. Also, a criminal carjacked him b/c of his expensive vehicle, not because his play 🤦♂️
Happy Birthday to one of the greatest to ever step into Wrestling Ring, Bret Hart as he turns 69 years old today.

🚨 Jürgen Klopp has launched a scathing attack on the cooling breaks being used during this World Cup. 👊
"Football is being held hostage by executives sitting in air-conditioned offices.
These breaks are being presented as a shield for player welfare, a noble weapon against the heat. In reality, they are nothing more than a golden cage built for sponsors.
When I saw players standing around during cooling breaks while television timeouts dictated the rhythm of the match, I couldn't help but ask myself: who is the World Cup really serving?
The supporters? The players? Or the advertisers?
A World Cup match should flow like a river. Instead, we are building dams in the middle of it so commercials can be shown.
It's dangerous for the spirit of the game. Football used to be the main event, but it now risks becoming background music for an advertising show."
He didn't hold back. 👏👏
A Canadian man is going viral for refusing to accept Canadian healthcare’s only option for his wife’s stage four ovarian cancer, medical assisted dying, choosing instead to flee to the United States for treatment, where doctors began immediate care, leading to near total remission.
@IconicChriss Steve was a ball of fire in 98. He kept me coming back to the WWF on Monday Nights. Even though I had switched to watching more WCW in 98 because of the screwjob.
@MartinoPooch Yup, this is garbage. Part of the challenge of trying to win the league and the champions league is that you need a deep squad and you need to deal with short rest at times. It’s supposed to be really hard.
Much of the media is celebrating the first anniversary of Mark Carney as Prime Minister, suggesting his first year in office has delivered significant progress. The data, however, tells a more complicated story.
Canada currently posts the highest food inflation rate among G7 countries.
The overall unemployment rate has remained largely unchanged, while youth unemployment continues to climb.
The national deficit has nearly doubled.
Interprovincial trade barriers—despite a commitment to eliminate them by July 1, 2025—remain firmly in place.
Our tariff situation with the United States has deteriorated compared with when he took office. Meanwhile, several of the transformational projects announced months ago have yet to receive formal approval.
Either there is something I’m missing, or parts of the media narrative surrounding the first year of Prime Minister Carney’s mandate are significantly disconnected from the underlying economic indicators.
@Bubblebathgirl That sounds like loser talk to me. Accidentally touching the stone with your finger - a split second after you release it gives you zero advantage…actually it can only mess-up your delivery
