@BCPCouncil Morning.. you probably already know, (or you will once the school parents find they can't park), but 6-7 caravans arrived in Branksome rec ground car park this weekend.
@mrjamesob Heart goes out to the 46-year old UX chap looking for work. I had the same a couple of years ago, in the same industry. Loads of experience, but as I was older I didn't have *specific* qualifications on what recruiters were looking for (cont..)
@mrjamesob .. (as those things didn't exist when I started). I really felt like I'd missed the boat, and I'm sure I was falling foul of recruiter's AI/algorithm-based CV filtering. All I can say is stick with it. (cont)
@BCPCouncil Morning, not sure if you know, but traveller camp set up overnight on Branksome rec. Broken open the gate on Recreation Road next to play area, and set up next to cricket pavilion
@mrjamesob Here's a suggestion: Social Media companies are required to carry out a periodic reset of their algorithm for users, say every 3 months or so. Still allows the business model to continue, but mitigates the worst of the rabbit-holing. Could work?
@mrjamesob@joncraig I reckon the repetition thing is a response to social media clipping, to make sure the approved response is attached to any question that gets turned into a snippet for sharing.
Well done @joncraig for derailing it so comprehensively! Might this make them rethink the strategy?
@PeterKGeoghegan Add "refoulment" to the list of words commentators use to try and convince you they've a deeper understand than you or I, despite only having heard the word themselves two weeks ago...
@StewedRat "Zombie attacks can devastate lives and cause untold damage to communities"
".... there's no such thing as zombies..?"
"And under this government we pledge to KEEP it that way. "
@Plusnet hi... typically what time of day do activations tend to kick in? I'm currently sat poised with my hub2 waiting for my sogea to switch on, due today (28th)
@Plusnet I'm currently on an old Unlimited Fibre package, and I also pay BT for line rental. I'd always been under the impression that I needed both, but is this the case still? I literally only use the phone line to connect to the internet. No phone connected to it.
