@ogjar i think they can apply with SBA to replace essential items (to forego out of pocket costs) which definitely helps. its such a terrible situation for everyone and the government as usual is making it harder for many people w/o considering everyone
@ogjar@lyssaisacat @sheneliaaa @renee_said@jservantez reading up, i might actually be wrong on tenants not having to backpay, that's how i interpreted it from the original tweet but honestly im not even sure anymore
@ogjar@lyssaisacat @sheneliaaa @renee_said@jservantez i think a lot of landlords feel uncertainty too, and that's why they are less understanding. ultimately landlords did not get as much protection as renters because they will stilll have to pay back their deferred mortgage, whereas renters will not have to backpay rent.
@ogjar@lyssaisacat @sheneliaaa @renee_said@jservantez i agree on charging late fees, disgusting. in an ideal situation i imagine working landlord to say "ok, how much money do you absolutely need this month" and going from there. WHETHER OR NOT you can afford it, an effort has been made, everyone understands the situation for ALL
@ogjar@lyssaisacat @sheneliaaa @renee_said@jservantez i am NOT equivocally taking landlord's side, i KNOW there are shitty landlords. what I am saying, is try to understand what this time may be like for your landlord too. make the effort and see if they are suffering? and if there is a way you or they can ease it for both sides.
@ogjar@lyssaisacat @sheneliaaa @renee_said@jservantez a meal is a necessity, and so is housing. not a reach, but good way to end the conversation without making any points!
@ogjar@lyssaisacat @sheneliaaa @renee_said@jservantez you would not (or at least I hope you wouldn't) expect a free meal from McDonalds because you didn't get paid, and it is, for the most part, no different here.
@ogjar@lyssaisacat @sheneliaaa @renee_said@jservantez being a landlord is NOT ALWAYS a "risk investment". courts have determined basically two standards. if you manage the property and put in lots of time, it is a business. if you don't put much time in, only then can it be considered an investment.
@Ilikefoxes45@lyssaisacat @sheneliaaa @renee_said@jservantez what the fuck is wrong with you? can the same not be said about tenants? and to dismiss their financial stability with "let them hurt"?? wtf??
@FCE365@CStar_OW even if he does release, thereβs no competition... checkra1n is and will always be better than whatever drama-bundled jb tool coolstar releases
