only grover could demo to the reader over & over that they are behaving... monstrously, let the reader off the hook at the end out of pity by saying *grover's* been the monster all along, and then facepalm in embarrassment at having done so

@nikitabier yeah the temptation (to which i myself succumbed in the past) to think it'll increase signal/noise and therefore increase signal volume is delusion. all you get is decreased everything.
