🐣: When I debuted, I was the maknae of HYBE, the youngest in the entire company. 🐣: I’m no longer the youngest in HYBE~
🐥: Now I have a lot of friends my age.
🐥: It seems like I’ve grown up (in a cute tone).
🐥: When I had just debuted, I was almost the maknae of K-pop scenery.
🐥: Ni-ki: So it’s hard to find someone my age.
🐥: And even if I do find someone,
🐥: that doesn’t mean I immediately want to get close to them or anything like that… 🐥: but James is really…
🐥: good at dancing.
🐥: And he has a great personality.
🐥: “It’s really funny because we both struggled a lot with the dance challenge (two-challenge). We both messed up the timing (we came in off-beat)…”
🐥: “I’m having so much fun because he’s really good at dancing. I know you’re preparing for something… You can do it! (Fighting!)”
👤: You said you’re close with James from CORTIS. Who talked to whom first?
🐣: We first became friends during the REDRED dance challenge…
🐣: There aren’t many people my age in this industry, so we became close.
🐣: All my friends are older than me 😆☝️
I’m crying. Honestly, you’ll never understand just how incredibly happy it makes me to know that Ni-ki has a friend like James in his life. You have no idea how much it means to me that my little one has found someone his own age with whom he can share so many things and this beautiful stage of his life and youth. Someone with whom he can simply be a normal young person like anyone else, who can go out with his friend and do things that boys their age enjoy, someone who understands him, who can relate to him, who is going through similar experiences, and with whom he can talk about them for hours, laugh, dance, have fun, and simply be a 20-year-old boy enjoying his friend’s company.
For such a long time, Ni-ki has been the maknae, the youngest of them all. And now, hearing him talk about James with so much excitement, seeing him enjoy his company, and knowing that he is slowly building a friendship with him fills my heart with happiness, warmth, and a tenderness I can’t even explain. 🥹🩷 Because even though it might seem like something small or ordinary to many people, it means so much to me. Sometimes, the most beautiful thing isn’t just finding someone who shares your profession or your talents, but finding someone who is going through a similar stage of life, someone with whom you can feel understood and with whom you don’t have to try so hard to find things in common because there are already so many things that bring you together and connect you.

Chicken Bacon pie with sautéed garlic broccoli. Pastry, frolic acid free, made with half butter/ half lard. And I must say this was the best pastry I have ever made. I guess the new flour does it.
Asparagus Greek Salad
Servings: 4
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 8–10 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients
For the Salad:
1 lb (450g) asparagus, tough ends trimmed
1 tbsp olive oil
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved (mix of red and yellow for color)
½ yellow bell pepper, diced
½ small red onion, thinly sliced
½ cup Kalamata olives, pitted
4 oz (115g) feta cheese, crumbled
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
1 tbsp fresh oregano or 1 tsp dried oregano
½ tsp red pepper flakes
For the Lemon-Oregano Dressing:
⅓ cup extra virgin olive oil
3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp dried oregano
½ tsp Dijon mustard
½ tsp honey
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Cook the asparagus. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Blanch asparagus 2–3 minutes until bright green and just tender. Transfer immediately to an ice bath to stop the cooking, then pat completely dry.
Char it (optional but recommended). Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the blanched asparagus 2 minutes per side until lightly charred in spots. Season with salt and pepper. Cut into 2-inch pieces.
Make the dressing. Whisk olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, oregano, Dijon, honey, salt, and pepper together until emulsified.
Assemble. In a large bowl, combine asparagus, cherry tomatoes, bell pepper, red onion, olives, parsley, and oregano.
Dress. Pour dressing over the salad and toss gently to coat.
Finish. Scatter crumbled feta over the top and sprinkle with red pepper flakes. Add a crack of black pepper and a final drizzle of olive oil.
Serve at room temperature or chilled.
Tips
Dry the asparagus after blanching — wet asparagus dilutes the dressing and won't char.
Add feta last so it stays bright white and crumbly instead of absorbing the dressing.
Yellow bell pepper matters here — it adds the golden pop that makes this look like the photo.
Variations
Add chickpeas or grilled chicken to make it a full meal.
Swap feta for shaved Parmesan or goat cheese.
Toss in diced cucumber for extra crunch.
I need to vent about something because I’m genuinely losing my mind over a situation with my close friend group.
One of my oldest friends is getting married next month, and four of us agreed to plan a weekend trip to a nice beach resort outside the city for his bachelor getaway.
Since I have a clean credit card with a high limit, the guys asked me to just book the entire package,
the luxury villa the private chef and the boat rental, on my card to lock in the reservation,
promising they would send me their equal shares of the money the exact same day.
The total came out to just over $2,400.
I trusted them blindly because we’ve been friends since our university days, so I went ahead and made the payment.
That was three weeks ago.
Since then, every time I bring up the money in our group chat, the energy completely changes.
One guy keeps saying his salary clearing is delayed, another says he had an unexpected family emergency and can only pay half next month,
and the third guy is literally just ignoring my direct messages while actively posting on his WhatsApp status.
Meanwhile, the wedding is…

Here's the correct opinion on the Tyler Denk <> Marc Lou newsletter software drama:
> MailCheap's launch is objectively a FLOP
@marclou's posts dunking on @denk_tweets and promoting his vibe-coded product have 2.5M+ views
7 days later, MailCheap has just 27 customers ($653 MRR).
That’s about 1 customer for every 70k people who saw it
> Yet, even if MailCheap is not successful long-term, it's still a WIN for Marc
He's gained a massive amount of attention and is continuing to grow his cult-like following
> Marc is a genius marketer, but… Tyler Denk is too
This is King Kong versus Godzilla.
These are two of the best guys in the world at creating spectacles and controversy (around niche business topics).
> Tyler took control of the narrative and shifted it from "beehiiv price increase" to "vibe-coded software Vs beehiiv’s track record"
No one's talking about beehiiv's prices anymore.
And a ton of people have jumped in to justify the pricing - or talk about how low it is compared to other email competitors.
INSTEAD, we're now arguing about the topics where beehiiv has an edge:
Deliverability, product, track record
And yes…
People are crying about Tyler “punching down.”
Tyler’s provocative language (basement dwellers) is harsh on purpose.
He gets back in the spotlight and can direct it where he wants.
The reaction:
Pearl-clutching and people accusing Tyler of being a “bad guy” because he counterpunched after being attacked first.
> No one will care about Marc fans taking the 'moral high ground' 3 months from now...
But they remember beehiiv.
> The idea that Tyler and beehiiv should just shut up and put their heads down is stupid anyway
If you are attacked, the right move is to attack back.
Most people don't realize that power comes from attention and positioning.
Not what your revenue is now.
Marc's influence is on the same level as Tyler, if not bigger.
It would be stupid to not respond and let Marc control the narrative and his positioning in the ESP market without pushback.
Every founder needs to tell their own story, or someone else will do it for you.
No one is bullying anyone.
Beehiiv is a bigger business.
But Marc has 350,000+ more followers - and is the #1 or #2 influencer in the indie hacker space
Both these guys started building in public around the same time in ~2022 and are around the same age.
We can let founders have a fun debate without all the moral-high-ground BS.
You can't win as a founder by staying quiet anymore.
You need to be loud. Polarizing. You must control the narrative to build a category-defining business.
And remember…
We're talking about email here. It's not that serious.
This is marketing.
They both get massive attention.
Nobody gets hurt. Everyone wins.
P.S. Online debates strip away nuance and dumb things down. That’s why IN-PERSON discussions are so much better.
If Tyler and Marc both want to chat at New Media Summit 2027 (@TheNMSummit ) I'm happy to arrange it.
Quick rundown of my chat with @sophiadew on @mtslive yesterday
On our journey:
- Every projection we had for this year came true, just not at the scale I expected (25x revenue growth since January)
- There was no market leader when we pivoted to sandboxes last year. It wasn't even clear if there was a market
CPU crunch:
- We’re one or two quarters away from a CPU crunch (in fact, our Series B is to buy compute before the crunch hits and to hire - both time sensitive)
- CPU shortages don’t need new data centers. Power draw is way lower than GPUs. That’s why the crunch could hit faster than people think
Agents & infra:
- Your number one customer will be an agent (8B+ humans mean hundreds of trillions of agents)
- To win in infra, you need both attention and scale. Attention tells people you exist. Scale ensures you don’t turn customers away when they arrive
- Agents choosing infrastructure themselves is coming. They’ll go wherever the compute is
- At most 2% of people are actually using AI infra currently. And almost all of them are in SF. We have no idea what happens when it goes mainstream
Sandboxes and misc:
- macOS sandboxes exist, but they are painful to run. You literally stack Mac minis
- In a year, real-world AI gets visible. Waymo was gradual until suddenly it wasn't
