Somehow this 1935 @fiannafailparty act is still in place, that nightclubs still operate under. While the Catholic Church was no doubt the primary influence on the legislation, the main prolonged campaign against the dance hall (now clubs) has been the Govt's. FF + @FineGael
Great news, for many sectors, not least nightlife. Let's hope this is the last we hear of this, and that premiums can start to noticeably drop. The cost is still one of the top challenges for the operation of nightclubs.
As nightlife continues to struggle badly, there's no even partially valid reason to delay the licensing bill any longer. Should be published and enacted as soon as possible. @MichealMartinTD@SimonHarrisTD@OCallaghanJim @podonovan https://t.co/H6AM2kT1Zc
@LindadeCourcy What a joke. The state sold it for €30 million to an asset manager less than 10 years ago and then rents it back for €30m a year for five years and then buys it back probably for €100m plus. All tax payers money! Some voodoo economic strategy right there!
@_FeachNews Shocking behaviour from someone I once believed gave a fook about peace. He's either been caught with his jox down somewhere he shouldn't have been or else had just turned into a greedy w anker. The 8th October 23 Sphere U2 show will be my last ever.
@mary_coughlan4 I was at the sphere on the 8th Oct when he spoke and sang about peace. It made me proud to be Irish. The last 15 months of silence and his reverence yesterday to Biden has made me sick to have ever supported him. What a horrible little man. I’ll never spend another cent to @U2
@IrishTimes I was at the sphere the night after the Hamas slaughter. I really thought you gave a shit. Your silence for the last 15 months has been pretty vile and accepting this medal from a cognitively impaired geriatric isn't going down well in your home country. Such a disappointment.

@Alan__Shatter You truly are a bitchy moan bag. Your mandate was overwhelmingly rejected last month. Netanyahu will be convicted and imprisoned and you’ll still whinge that it’s out of anti semitism rather than his murderous actions. Your views and public outbursts do nothing to further Judaism
Read our 40-point plan that we've asked to be studied and considered for the next Programme for Government. Covering licensing, night-time economy, infrastructure and music culture/artist studios. @MichealMartinTD@SimonHarrisTD#giveusthenight https://t.co/8dul0wY6s6
We regret to say that this government has led us on, let us down and reneged on its word to reform licensing laws. As it stands, Fine Gael's big promise of change has been nothing more than 5+ years of talk
This week the Climate Change Advisory Council warned that as a state we are way off from attaining our EU required carbon emission reduction targets for 2030. Apart from the environmental consequences, such failure risks the state incurring liability to fines of over €8 billion. Instead of spending billions on fines, the next government must make the investment necessary to attain our set targets & do what we can to tackle climate change. We owe that to todays children & future generations.
