ޚުދުމުޚްތާރު ވެރިކަމެއްގެ އެންމެ އަސާސީ އެއް ސިފައަކީ މިނިވަން ނޫސްވެރިކަން ނެތިކޮށްލުން. ނޫސްވެރިން ތާއަބަދު ބިރުވެރިކަމާއި ނުތަނަވަސްކަންމަތީ ބޭތިއްބުން.

އެތައް ގުރުބާނީއަކުން މިއަދާއިހަމައަށް ދަތުރު ކޮށްފައިއޮތް ދިވެހި ނޫސްވެރިކަމުގެ މިނިވަންކަން ނަގާލުމަށް މި ސަރުކާރަށް ފުރުސަތު ނުދިނުމަށް އެންމެހާ ނޫސްވެރިންނަށާއި ރައްޔިތުންގެ މަޖިލިހުގެ ޢިއްޒަތްތެރި މެމްބަރުންނަށް ގޮވާލަން.

ރަނގަޅު ވެރިކަމެއް ކުރުމަށްޓަކައި ނޫސްތައް ހުއްޓުވުމުގެ ބަދަލުގައި އިސްކަން ދޭންވާނީ ޖަވާބު ދާރީވުމަށް. ތަހުޒީބީ ގައުމުތަކުގައި މީޑިއާތައް ރެގިއުލޭޓް ކުރަނީ ސެލްފް ރެގިއުލޭޓެޑް ބޮޑީތަކުން. އެކަން ކުރަންޖެހޭނެ ގޮތަކީ އެއީ. މި ބިލް މަޖިލީހަށް ބަލައި ނުގަތުމަށް ގޮވާލަން.

The newly proposed media regulation bill is another poorly concealed attempt by @MMuizzu’s administration to dismantle media freedom in the country. Free media is the backbone of a democracy; the proposed legislation removes necessary protections from journalists and media platforms, and gives the president direct control over the “regulatory” council. It gives the council unchecked authority to block, ban, and fine independent media sources and to stifle all forms of dissent.
We cannot go back to the days where speaking the truth is cause enough for persecution.
