@cooksleft Brown so much better when just with Anderson, and Clarkson much better when playing at centre rather than on wing. Bowler is great when flying but where do you play him in 532. Lots to sort but like you say, won’t be a half hearted pre season this year, let’s hope we get it right
@cooksleft Great Blog as usual. Agree with your points. Back 3/5, either Horsfall or Casey as centre, liked Walters a lot as RCB. Need quality LCB if a 3 and quality full backs. Agree about Anderson or someone very similar. Said most of season, Honeyman just wasn’t right.
@BlackpoolFC Unbelievable day, fantastic team and brilliant manager. No one can ever take that away from us, and hopefully one day, we can see it again 🙏🍊🤞🏻
@BlackpoolFC Good luck Hubby, hope you get a good club and deal for yourself. Went out on a high by coming back after Plymouth and guiding us to safety UTMP🍊
@NotOrangePod I think a few who options have been taken up, Lyons, Finnegan and Kouassi will be sold on if possible, a bit like Beesley. I also think Fletcher will leave as he will have other offers and is on a free. He has done fantastic, but I feel Taylor and Bloxham may be first choice
@cooksleft Great blog. He must have been written off so many times and yet he kept coming back just when we needed him and like you say finished the season with clean sheets and that experience which we so needed. Thought he might have taken up the option but he probably has something sortd
@NotOrangePod@BBCLancsSport If he has, it will be interesting to see fan reactions as majority on your podcast felt it was time for him to move on. He has certainly performed much better and consistently over last 9 games, so we will see. He can play many roles and does Evo see that as a massive plus 🤷♂️
@reuellwalters@BlackpoolFC Been a major reason why we have retained League 1 status. I think the RCB role suits you down to the ground and I hope we see you back next season permanently. If not, good luck UTMP 🍊
@NotOrangePod Also, whilst I would like a player of similar quality at LCB like Walters, I have to say I have changed my mind and would keep Husband for another year as back up. Again, he has been a big factor these last 8/9 games and his experience could be vital.
@NotOrangePod Totally agree, Walters is quality in a back 3 and no coincidence that we haven’t conceded much since he has been there and Anderson has such an engine, that him and Brown cover the pitch more than we have seen in many seasons. Both need to improve quality on the ball but so good
@amos_wynn We have probably had the better chances. Anderson and Walters have been excellent seeing they are loan players in an end of season game, especially Anderson. Casey looked solid at the back.
@HLTCO Genuine question : Are you glad Glasner has stayed until the end of the season now you have a great chance of winning in Europe ? There was a time when he had made the announcement and some comments after when you wanted him to go then. Think you will win the final.
@henrywinter That was just about teams wanting to score goals from minute 1 to the very end. No falling down at every touch. No wasting time to protect a lead or got back to 5-4. No 3 minute set piece routines. Obviously wonderful players but that restores your faith and hope Prem takes note
@The_Gazette Particularly impressed by Walters as RCB, probably more than wing back. Would be very happy to see him permanently. Anderson is extremely impressive as a pressing midfielder with superb energy. Him and Brown have been great last few games.
@Brett33D Frustration will be that there was a real opportunity this season to make playoffs as a minimum, but just grateful we are still in L1. Got to take this momentum into next season, no lax pre season, recruitment needs to be so much better and I think the opportunity will be there.
@NotOrangePod Whilst not wanting to face a relegation battle, the last few weeks have brought everyone together. The fans have certainly been behind the team and attendance have increased, the team have stepped up, so the hierarchy need to build on this when looking at season ticket prices.
@amos_wynn You are right though, a positive end to the season, doesn’t take away from an awful season. We were totally under cooked under Bruce and we never recovered from that. Some poor signings as well as Downes recruitment policy. We have gone backwards now for 4 seasons in a row !!!
@amos_wynn I remember the 77/78 season Amos, where practically every single result went against us and we ended getting relegated with a team that was far too good to go down. Whilst it would take an unbelievable turn of events for that to happen, I would like us to win in style on Sat 🙏
