When we were much younger, they told us we are the leaders of tomorrow.

I have grown older now, the older generation continues to fight young people for those same seats.

When are we going to be completely free from the shackles of “old men politics”?

When will young people begin to take action?

We have all been clamoring for “The Africa We Want.” How is this even going to work if the youth of Africa are denied access to life changing opportunities?

In many African countries today, young people remain unemployed, are excluded from politics, and see their dreams limited.

I will use my country, Nigeria, as a case study. Upward of 90% of Nigerian youth are either unemployed or underemployed, living in hardship because the ones who are supposed to protect and provide for them have failed them.

Do you know what it means to spend so much money in school? From rent and fees to feeding and course materials only to graduate and end up stranded.

The moment the older generation steps back and allows young people to participate in decisions that affect their lives is when we will truly start achieving “The Africa We Want.”

This is such an impactful initiative. 👏🏽 Comprehensive sexuality education goes beyond sharing information; it equips young people with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to make informed and responsible decisions about their health and future.

Advocacy combined with practical education like this is how we empower young adults from a preventive standpoint and help them make healthier choices before problems arise. Great work! 🙌🏽

My husband planned a quiet weekend at an old converted lighthouse on the coast.
