@VoiceofBears@BUFootball Don’t know if it’s just me, but I would love to buy a t-shirt with this image. Could probably sell a boatload of them to raise money for the hospital. Just sayin. Sic ‘Em!
@NotBlindfolded@Highway2Heaven2 While Anduril is a lovely decoration, that point is awfully close to toddler height. Those are the kind of things I meant when I talked about general safety stuff. It’s hard looking at your comfortable home for hazards, but kids can, and will, get into everything.
@Highway2Heaven2@NotBlindfolded Yes! This. Might want to get rid of your venomous snake and spider collection and your husband’s collection of ninja stars he leaves lying around the house.
@NotBlindfolded Sorry, now 3/3. There are plenty of articles online about childproofing your home. It’s ok to have alcohol in your home as long as it is kept where a kid can’t get to it. I am not a professional, so these are just my thoughts. Your agency might have different expectations
@NotBlindfolded First and foremost, take a moment and just breathe! Adoption agencies are looking for reasons to approve you, not disqualify you. Your house doesn’t have to be spotless, it has to be safe for a child. Focus on that and everything will work out. I have been through it twice.
@NotBlindfolded 2/2. If you have guns, are they stored properly according to local laws. If you have dogs, are they safe around kids. Then simple things like, do you have room for a child. They will ask your plans for who will be taking care of the baby and what your work/childcare plans are.
@NotBlindfolded Safety things like, (and this seems obvious to say) the house is in good repair, no holes in the floor or walls. No exposed wires or loose electrical outlets. no mold/mildew or leaky roof. Less obvious, anything laying around or easily accessible that could hurt a child. 1/2
@T_REX1991 My only issue with Gold is that it is also used by both Iowa State and West Virginia. On the other hand, green is not used by any other BigXII school. Before I get hate mail, I do agree that gold looks better in the stands. Just don’t like sharing it with other schools.
