@bronzeagemantis There’s never been a “broad popular consensus to accept immigrants”. Since 1990 the % of Swedes saying that it’s a good idea to accept fewer refugees has fluctuated between 40-61 %. There’s been an elite consensus which seemed like a public consensus because of media gatekeepers.
