Jigawa Flood Relief
The Nigerian Red Cross Society, in partnership with @IFRC, has officially launched a Cash and Agricultural Assistance program for 5,000 beneficiaries across Auyo, Mallam Madori, and Kiri Kasamma LGAs in Jigawa State.
🌾 3,000 families are receiving Agricultural Assistance worth N150 million to improve their farmlands.
💵 2,000 families will benefit from Cash Assistance worth N154 million to help rebuild their lives.
During the launch, Nigerian Red Cross Society HQ President Prince Oluyemisi Adeaga reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities, the elderly, children, and pregnant women.
Key dignitaries, including Jigawa State Governor Mal Umar Namadi (represented by Alhaji Muhammad Bello) and Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs Yusuf Sununu (represented by Mr. Atiku Muhammad), commended the Red Cross for its impactful efforts in aiding flood victims.

ECOWAS Partners with Nigerian Red Cross and Ministries to Deliver Flood Relief Across Six States
In a remarkable show of solidarity, ECOWAS, in collaboration with the Nigerian Red Cross Society, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has extended vital support to flood-affected communities across six states in Nigeria.
The initiative, part of the ECOWAS Flood Response Project, aims to assist over 3,500 households in Adamawa, Anambra, Oyo, Kebbi, Kogi, and Rivers States. Relief efforts include:
⛑️Cash Assistance: Families received financial aid to address immediate needs like home repairs, medical care, and education.
⛑️Food Supplies: Essential items such as rice, beans, garri, and cooking oil were distributed to alleviate hunger.
⛑️Non-Food Items: Beneficiaries were provided with mosquito-treated nets, blankets, buckets, and mats to ensure health and safety.
⛑️Clean Water Access: 12 boreholes built in selected communities to reduce the risk of waterborne diseases.
This initiative underscores the power of partnerships in addressing humanitarian challenges and rebuilding lives.
