NEW DATA: the numbers are terrifying – hunger is skyrocketing across West & Central Africa. Conflict is spreading, climate shocks are increasing, and food is running out.

Now, a record 48M people face severe hunger in 2023 if we not respond ASAP. This is a call to action.

[António Guterres @antonioguterres]

The @UN Central Emergency Response Fund is one of the fastest & most effective ways to support humanitarian action.

In 2022, @UNCERF provided more than $700 million to help people in 40 countries.

I urge countries to fund our efforts in the next year.
