NEW: A Russian biker with links to Moscow’s sabotage chief can be revealed as the suspected mastermind of a bomb plot in the heart of Europe.

A joint Telegraph and Welt am Sonntag investigation reveals that Oleg Levushkin - a Russian family man with a passion for motorbikes - is believed to have planned a failed attempt to plant explosives at Germany’s Leipzig-Halle airport.

German investigators suspect that Mr Levushkin planned the attack before ordering Andrei Karshakou, a Belarusian proxy agent named today for the first time, to carry out his plans in August.

Classified intelligence documents from Germany, Lithuania and Poland, as well as interviews with senior Western intelligence officials, detail the pair’s alleged planning of the attack.

The evidence points to disturbing links between the Leipzig attack and a wider network of sabotage plots across Europe, all allegedly orchestrated by a hard-line unit in the GRU.

Today, October 1, 2026, another Ukrainian defender fell in combat.

Flying a MiG-29 fighter jet, he carried out missile and bomb strikes against Russian occupiers along one of the front-line directions.

During the mission, his aircraft was hit by an enemy missile. The pilot ejected, but tragically did not survive.

Captain Marat Redvanovych Mambetov was a flight commander in the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade "Ghost of Kyiv."

We extend our deepest condolences to Marat's family and loved ones. He defended Ukraine until his very last breath.

What the Kremlin is doing with the AfD now is an almost exact replica of what it did with Dodik, Russia's trojan horse in Bosnia & Herzegovina, in 2014. In September 2014, Dodik was summoned to Moscow and "offered" a "direct" and "lucrative" Gazprom deal, - just weeks before the elections.
For Russia, Gazprom/Norstream/Southstream were never economic projects. They were and are political weapons. Incredible that so many in Germany are even considering wading back into that river twice.

Exclusive government documents obtained by Reuters show that Moscow plans to spend 17.1 trillion roubles ($202.58 billion) on defence in 2027.

That's a 27% budget increase and the highest figure since the invasion of Ukraine. The documents also estimate that the Russian 2026 budget deficit will rise to 3.2% of GDP, from 1.6% of GDP previously.

Total defence spending will amount to 50 trillion roubles in the next three years, according to the documents. In 2026 the government planned to spend 12.1 trillion roubles on defence but the actual amount is classified ⁠and will not be disclosed. Some military spending can also be accounted for in other parts of the budget.

The documents also showed the government raised its estimate for its 2026 budget deficit to 3.2% of gross domestic product, from 1.6% of GDP previously. Budget spending in 2026 will increase by 13.2% to 48.6 trillion roubles or 20.9% of GDP.”
