I am sure trans identifying people will continue to exist. Just as the people who believe in gods, the people who believe in chem trails, the people who believe in fairies and any other conspiracy theory you care to name. The human propensity for mental illness and delusion is huge; schizophrenia is the price we pay for language.
They exist. They will always be with us. they have a right not to be abused for their belief. But they have absolutely no right whatsoever to demand that others also believe what they do, nor that others have to celebrate their belief and pay it homage.
@pb_and_jaybird Hi there! I studied evolutionary/developmental biology at university. The 'advanced biology' you're referring to
Even in advanced biology, there are two sexes, across all anisogamous species. Even additional karyotypes result in a male or a female
And mammals cannot change sex.
Our entire point is that bad men don’t stop being bad men the moment they put on a dress & call themselves a woman, and “Ms Starshine” here (seriously) is proving us right.
What if a man pretends to be a 'transman' to access women's services? Supremely dealt with by Mary-Ann Stephenson, though the clip is cut too soon. Her point was that it was laughed out of court by TRA's, the idea that a man might pretend to be a 'transwoman' to access women's services, but they expect the exact same argument to be credible now the boot's on the other foot. (I paraphrase 😏)
Chromosomes do not regulate the sex hormones.
The chromosomes determine the gonad type. And it’s the gonad type that determines your hormone profile, along with your gamete type.
Your gonad is the organizer of your sex. Changing hormones does not change your sex.
Seriously, @Taleeb@JohnPaulDanko, this is so pathetic. You guys are married straight men, what the fuck business do you have declaring it to be offensive to ask what a woman is? On whose behalf are you offended? I'm a married lesbian with a daughter and it sure as fuck isn't mine. Is it for the sake of the men in dresses? I'm sure you don't give a fuck about them either. You're just saying what you think your voters want to hear while trying to save your party from looking ridiculous (too fucking late for that). Meanwhile your stupid antics are actually making people absolutely sick of anything remotely "LGBT" related. God does it make me angry that people like you, who won't have to deal with the backlash in your personal lives, are making everyone think that all of us are insufferable egomaniacal totalitarians who don't even let people recognize what a woman is. I hate you for this, truly I do.
And if anyone doubts how deeply uneducated many MPs are on this issue, see below. The most basic elements of the judgment in @ForWomenScot have completely passed this MP by
As JKR said, she could have papered the walls of every room in every castle and mansion she owns with the death threats received by anti women activists.
Denial is not just a river in Egypt for this cohort. And it will be their undoing. It's just taking an annoyingly long time.
@jadesunling@lindajos The confirmation bias of a "true gender identity" - akin to a religious soul, but a sexed one - from so MANY trans activists is ENORMOUS, and so far you haven't said anything that makes me think you're not like them..
@jadesunling@lindajos Yes, but internalised homophobia in a homophobic society is likely one significant cause, beside other causes of sex-related dysphoria.
Neurological studies looking for a distinct gender identity in the brain have so far failed due to confounding factors:
https://t.co/dLUwMFzyoc
@IanCopeland5 From the very study you cited:
1) TW's brain "shifted", but "still closer to cisgender men"
2) future studies to consider SEXUAL ORIENTATION as it also affects brain anatomy
Shift in 1 may be due to homosexuality, but this study didn't do 2, thus can't conclude either way.
Remember kids: when trans activists dox your private home address, show up to threaten + intimidate you, hassle your neighbours, try breaking in while you're inside (999 literally tells you to barricade the door with your sofa), then report you to the police and get you arrested for talking about it... you're just experiencing "online paranoia" and this is peak sane normal behaviour from trans activists. Truly inspirational!!
When @natty_ice2010 got kicked out of her running club right before the Boston Marathon because she dared to criticize the fact that Boston admits men into the women's category, I told her we'd start our own.
So we did. It's called the @xx_xyathletics Team Women Run Club.
You are not a friend of Lesbians @NadiaWhittomeMP
Lesbians will be the biggest losers if the EHRC Guidance is rejected. Is your next move to scrape the Equality Act 2010 so we lose all the protections that this Act gives us? You might like to explain to us why you are homophobic
Chippenham operatives are assembling ready for Saturday 13 June.
Given that Wiltshire Police appear to think they are under a duty to wrap themselves in Progress and Trans flags to show their 'support' for a marginalised community, I am hoping to gather many relevant photos and videos in time for my substantive JR hearing this autumn.
Then on to Swindon Pride August 15.
Today marks the 6th anniversary of @jk_rowling's remarkable and important essay about her "reasons for speaking out sex and gender issues."
It is powerful, personal—and undeniably courageous. It is as relevant today as when she wrote it.
Her experience is a case study in what happens if you challenge a rigid ideological orthodoxy. The backlash is immediate, relentless, and often vicious.
As she asked then, “So why am I doing this? Why speak up? Why not quietly do my research and keep my head down?”
I find inspiration in JK's consistent fight for the truth and her refusal to be intimidated and scared away by the online mob.
