A two-day Training Workshop organized by the National Blood Council was held on the 23–24 August 2026 with a total of 50 in-person and 60 online participants. Participants were oriented and trained on the National Standard for Blood Banks and Blood Transfusion Services. In addition the workshop also focused on orienting the participants to the National Guideline on Blood Donor Assessment and Selection Procedures.
The workshop focused on strengthening knowledge, streamlining blood transfusion practices and promoting the implementation of national standards and guidelines for safe and quality blood transfusion services.

The construction of the Dharussalam Building, a landmark 12-storey multipurpose Waqf project, has officially commenced.
This historic initiative reflects the vision of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Muizzu @MMuizzu to strengthen the sustainability of Waqf and generate long-term revenue to support Islamic activities across the Maldives, including the construction and maintenance of mosques.

Auditor General Hussain Niyazy, accompanied by senior officials from the Auditor General’s Office, the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy, and the Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO), visited the Thilafushi Waste Management Facility today.
The visit provided an opportunity to observe ongoing waste management operations and gain first-hand insight into the systems and processes used to manage waste and resources.
The team also reviewed the ongoing projects to develop state-of-the-art waste management infrastructure in Thilafushi.
The Ministry remains committed to promoting transparency, strengthening accountability, and improving waste management systems and services to support a cleaner and more sustainable Maldives.
