This Friday, Islander Creative Writers will be having our first meeting of the year!
We look forward to discussing plans for the upcoming semester to keep our community growing and to cultivate a place where we can gather to inspire each other to write despite unpredictable
global circumstances. We're also looking to hold more workshopping opportunities so students can tend to their passion writing projects rather than just having to focus on academic writing projects.

If you didn't start today but still want to participate, it's not too late to start now. And don't forget, if you don't like the confines of the November 1st to 30th plan or have even larger goals for yourself than to write 50,000
"We are excited to showcase three poems from Windward contributor, friend, and colleague, Rossy Evelin Lima DePadilla. All three poems are published in her book Migrare Mutare and translated by Don Cellini. Dr. Lima is an essential voice in our region, as well as nationally and
internationally. We are also pleased to publish new poetry from Dr. Lima in Windward's forthcoming Vol. 18. Described by Juan Felipe Herrera as a "lyrical warrior crossing," Lima has recently joined the faculty in the Spanish Department at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
