When highly effective, highly agreeable, highly conscientious educators (administration, teachers, staff) continually leave the field, there is a problem with the system, not the educators.
Effective administrators don’t make observations during high stress for their teachers. They also have visited classrooms enough to know who’s highly effective and already mentoring any who need it so that the observation is not a big deal.
One of the best retention strategies for a school is an administration who takes care of their staff. Not only will they not want to leave, but others will want to work there.
Remember, if you want to keep the best teachers, treat them like they are the best. Few teachers leave an environment where they feel valued, supported, appreciated, and treated like professionals.
Addressing the teacher shortage shouldn't involve lowering criteria to be a teacher--it should involve supporting teachers, paying them, and providing the resources needed to best serve students.

My three tips for administrators as they work with teachers in 2022… and every other year:
1) Trust their judgment.
2) Respect their professionalism.
3) Support them every way you
can.
It is impossible to accomplish or win at anything without first clear focus on a clear vision. Distractions and comparison will never allow you to arrive at the destination of your vision. Not being completely locked in with your teammates will never get you to your goals!
@chazmolder@MauryCoSchools@TNedu Everyone whole heartedly agrees. Even if we had to go into June somewhat would still make the year more enjoyable and save more money.
They stormed beaches facing a hail of bullets, parachuted behind enemy lines, manned ships and planes. It was hell. They knew many of them would die or be severely wounded. They fought for freedom and each other. We are indebted to their heroism & sacrifice. #DDay. 77 years ago.
