It is cold once again. The leaves fall to the ground and the birds fly away.
But they’ll be back. The orioles. The gold finches. The bluebirds. And all the same, love will return to you too.
God I am having the best day off. I went for a walk in the park, saw new birds, sat by the river. Later I’m gonna go to the theater, get some popcorn, watch a new animated movie. Then I’m gonna stop by the cross-stitch store and get some supplies for a project. Life is good.
Sometimes at work, I like to listen to the “90’s corporate office elevator” playlist and imagine myself as a 90’s career woman as I sit at my desk… is that weird?
Dawg I am so tired of being the only one who gets shit done in my department. And you’re not going to give me the manager position, but I still have to like train that person anyway??? Fuhgewhdjdjjsbsgahs
Sometimes it’s devastating to think about how I gave up on my animation dreams, but that doesn’t stop me from supporting the animation industry in anyway that I can. That’s why I go to the theatre for every animated movie released. It’s the least I can do.
Disney and DreamWorks are churning out CGI sequels every year, while animators at LAIKA spent 11 years in an Oregon warehouse hand-weaving tiny coats for puppets to make Wildwood
LAIKA’s last movie lost nearly $75 million in 2019 and any other studio would have pivoted to cheap animation.
God bless Nike founder Phil Knight for funding his son’s stop-motion passion project so we can get actual hand-crafted cinema.
