“…Super Evil Megacorp not only created a love letter to Ninja Turtles but also created the best TMNT game to release in years and if you aren’t on Apple Arcade to experience it, I urge you to at least go for the one month trial for this game.” -- VDGMS

Apple peeps! How does iOS decide when to show the "Download over cellular?" dialog for In-house app updates? It doesn't seem to be the IPA size. It's not the uncompressed binary size. Is it the total disk usage for the old version of the app, including Documents and/or Cache?
Rewatching Star Trek: Nemesis for the first or second time since it came out, I think. The first 26 minutes or so were largely just fine. Wish they'd kept making that movie.
@migueldeicaza First one no, second one yes. Turned out the NIC had been replaced on the remote host and that changed/invalidated the fingerprint, but until I learned that, I didn’t remove the known_hosts entry and refused to connect.
“i like pancakes” “so you hate waffles?” is giving twitter users too much credit. it’s more like “i like pancakes” “so you think i should have to eat pancakes every day even though i’m allergic to buttermilk and my father was ground to dust in a flour mill?”
BART Board just approved my proposal to institute 30 min grace period for $6.40 excursion fare! We'll soon stop penalizing riders who enter a station and don't ride BART, especially when it's due to BART delays.
Thanks @JaniceForBART & staff for working with me all year on this!
@SebPark I think more likely Manhattan than elsewhere. A year ago I was looking at moving my business acct there. Soon as I so much as said I had a business acct question they pulled me out of line, took care of the other things I was there for, and gave me the whole business acct spiel.

To my follows and particularly mutuals, if you're on a Mastodon server findable by https://t.co/U4hd6V5bUc, I'm already following you. I'll rescan every day until Twitter goes down forever or it looks stable.

If it does, I'll write a tool to strip personal/advertising info (if it turns out the format is amenable to that) and release it, if there isn't one already. 2/2
Not sure how much longer Twitter will be around, so I've requested my Twitter data archive (More>Settings and Support>Settings and Privacy>Download an archive of your data). Maybe whatever replaces Twitter will have an archive import function. 🤷♂️ 1/2
@bryan_caplan I'd argue it goes back to "The Machine Stops" for AI safety in general, and at least the "I, Robot" short stories and "The Naked Sun" in the 1950s for x-risk in particular.
