For thousands of years, these were not the gods of humankind that humans worshipped. These were the gods of human mind that humans worshipped. The submission to an unseen creator, surrender to an invisible supreme power, has always troubled the human mind.
Ayub’s martial law ended with the separation of East Pakistan.
Zia’s martial law left a legacy of deep sectarianism.
Musharraf’s martial law fueled the insurgency in Balochistan.
Asim Law, No Rule of law Massacre across Pakistan, insurgency in multiple provinces.
@OfficialDGISPR, how many times must history repeat itself before the failure of the hybrid system is acknowledged?
Silencing dissent will not bring stability. It only deepens resentment, fuels unrest, and increases violence.
It’s time to learn from history, restore Real Democracy , and return the military to the barracks.
Return the stolen Mandate and
#FreeImranKhan the only leader who has massive support all over Pakistan.
People say Mohsin Pishi's statement is diverting people from Kashmir. Trust me, no one can divert people from Kashmir. We will talk about Kashmir, Imran Khan, Balochistan, and KP.
DO YOU SEE HOW THEY HAVE NORMALISED SHOOTING AT PROTESTORS? Islamabad, muridke, kashmir. We are literally living under a fascist regime which mass kills population when they resist state barbarity.
On November 26, what happened at D-Chowk took place at night, so many people refused to believe the accounts. After today’s incident, how will those same people defend it? If a peaceful rally of fewer than 100 people can be met with live fire, imagine the level of brutality witnessed at D-Chowk and Rawalakot yesterday.
whole of azad kashmir is boycotting the elections, facing state brutality for 2 months and still refusing to back down despite being ignored by everyone in mainland Pakistan. ayenda koi chutiya na bole ke yahan koi protest nai karta, aur inka to imran khan se bhi koi taluq nai
establishment's biggest mistake is thinking it can defeat its own people. the brave people of kashmir will prove it wrong.
Power without legitimacy never lasts
2 days ago, the sharifs were in mirpur promising “punjab style development.” today, as reports of firing and deaths emerge from rawalakot, we see the promise for what it is: patronage for the obedient, bullets for the rest.
So much happening in Kashmir and not a single tweet I'm coming across except from Kashmiris themselves?? This indifference and selfishness is the reason we are at stage we are at. At least say a few words show solidarity for your friends. Disappointing.
Fellas, don't discredit yourselves. What you pulled off on Feb 8 was incredible. They banned your party, took away your symbol, arrested your leaders and you still won against all odds. At the end of the day you don't live in a democracy. What followed next was tragic.
It has now been around 1,100 days since my father, Imran Khan, was imprisoned, and my brother and I haven’t heard his voice since March. For months, we’ve been denied contact with him. We remain in the dark about his access to healthcare as his eyesight continues to deteriorate. He urgently needs medical attention, and with no family or legal access, we don’t even get any second hand information or reassurance.
I’ve found myself especially missing him recently. I want to speak to him about mundane things like my cricket, books I’ve been reading and what new movies are good. I understand the people of Pakistan want their chosen leader free, but I miss my father more than ever.
But this is not just about a father. It is about Pakistan, and its future. A rigged, authoritarian regime continues to crush political opposition, undermine democratic institutions, and deny millions of Pakistanis their right to freely choose their leaders, whilst terrorising those who speak their beliefs.
I once again plea to the international community to not look away. Silence in the face of injustice only enables it.
