Another Month down! We have not hit the 1k TC mark yet, but at well over 600 TC in top ups, we're on track to hit the mark next month. Thanks to the great builders on ICP who have chosen to use Unicycle to keep your canisters running.
It's been about a month and a half since our initial launch. The first couple of weeks were primarily small quantity testing. In the month after that, we've sent over 100 TC to canisters on behalf of our users. How long until we hit 1000 TC?
We recently adopted @ICUnicycle’s cycle top-up service. 3-point summary why:
1.
It sources cycles from ICPSwap’s TCycles pool when swap rates beat minting. A natural cost-saver.
2.
Special support for DAOs is provided, which we opted to take up. The deposit account is DAO-owned, and configurations are DAO-controlled.
3.
For now, the 5% service fee (paid in TC) feeds wholly into a rebate scheme. Unicycle deposits fees into a TC/ICP liquidity position it owns, crediting payers reward shares in proportion. The LP’s trading-fee earnings flow to a rebate pool that offsets reward share holders’ future top-up fees, pro-rata.
Unicycle’s creator intends to eventually place it under Sneed DAO's governance. Credits to the creator!
August Update!
🎉 We have officially updated our ledger to the latest standard with help from @icsneed 🪩
It's now easier to integrate $CLOWN with ICP services & change our logo -- as you can see from our icon updated across platforms!
We're grateful for everyone who's stood with us as we've been hibernating! We are still around & clowning for the next bull run.
Icp is our home & we are optimistic about the future as ICP keeps developing tech the world needs. Eventually there will be our moment. ♾️💰
💪 We have been around for years, throughout different themes and strategies, and we will continue to be around and onboard new members, new strategies, & build price action regardless of our slow months in the past.
Big thank you and congrats to @tacodaoicp for getting set up with Unicycle and having their first canister top ups being sent today! Very proud for Taco DAO to be using and supporting Unicycle to help keep their operations running smoothly.
Self-funding is elegant. Redundant funding is resilient.
MULTI/DEX already has an automated loop that converts treasury funds into cycles. This warning does not show that the automation failed.. it shows its natural boundary:
when the treasury is empty, the system has no capital left to automate.
A pre-funded @icunicycle configuration could provide a second funding path: monitor the safety floor and automatically top up the canister before trading is interrupted.
Primary loop: MULTI/DEX funds itself.
Fallback loop: Unicycle is funded in advance.
Dfinity, this looks like an ideal real-world integration for demonstrating that autonomous infrastructure can also be operationally redundant.
True resilience is not expecting one funding source to last forever. It is ensuring that another is already in place when it does not.

@ICPFren The advantage of the current low price; however, is that each ICP spawned from maturity will buy/burn more cICP and therefore further reduce the overall cICP supply, leading to greater upward price pressure in the future (less cICP floating around = less to sell)
@ICPFren https://t.co/lHdenEmwRq There's 308k icp in the neuron with 254k cicp in supply. Buyback burn will place upward pressure on the price but does not guarantee movement as holders of the rest of the tokens may choose to sell at the same time.
@Stanford0011 Thanks! Unicycle is being developed for Sneed - the service canisters will be transferred to DAO control after development stabilizes and update cadence slows down.
Earlier today cycleops bought 3174 TC for 1025 ICP (.323 ICP/TC). They will sell those cycles to their customers at a 100% markup. Unicycle passes those savings onto the customer rather than profiting from cheap cycles. Which service do you prefer?
@LizNuwasii53275 We're looking to provide a high quality and low cost service for users who need to maintain their canisters, not provide a way for people to earn tokens. We're aiming for sustainability and fairness to users of ICP.
@LizNuwasii53275 Appreciate the shoutout. Just to clarify and avoid confusion though, Unicycle does not generate rewards for users. The fees users pay go toward LP that generates rewards, and those rewards are used to reduce future fees for the customers!
This is the kind of transparency infrastructure users deserve.
Clear numbers, clear trade-offs, and an approach where efficiency benefits the customer—not just the service provider.
Appreciate @icunicycle for showing that automation and fair pricing can exist in the same product.

@brrrrrrruuh The plan is to hand the Uncicyle service over to Sneed to add to their growing library of ICP supporting tools. Control is currently with the developer until new features are more fleshed out and update cadence slows.
One cool thing about https://t.co/Hp6g18iegD is that when it tops up your canister, it checks market price vs mint price for cycles, and takes the cheapest (kind of like swaprunner for cycles).
This in turn means that if more apps start using unicycle, cycles will get infrastructure arbing them towards stability as a stable coin.
When you top up with https://t.co/FLehmQHKir, your fees go to a liquidity pool where they earn rewards. Those rewards are then sent back to you as credits to lower your top up fees in the future, further lowering what you pay for what is already the lowest fee top up service.
The best infrastructure disappears into the background.
Tendy and Sneed are already using @ICUnicycle to automate cycle top-ups, with Taco DAO next in line.
That is what real utility looks like: fewer operational distractions, better rates, lower fees, and canisters that keep running.
