Dr. Muhammad Goje stands among the youngest individuals to serve as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) in Nigeria, appointed by Governor Buni. He is a respected public health expert and humanitarian leader with extensive experience in administration and crisis management.

Born on 1 September 1980, Dr. Goje has built a solid academic and professional profile. His training includes programs at the Harvard Kennedy School and the London School of Economics. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health and has participated in leadership development with the Center for Strategic and International Studies. He holds an MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Universiti Putra Malaysia, along with additional certifications from globally recognized institutions.

His international exposure includes engagements in Japan and Pakistan, focusing on post-conflict governance and recovery. Since 2019, his career has been shaped under the guidance of Governor Buni, combining academic insight with practical governance experience.

As former Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr. Goje has led humanitarian interventions and coordinated emergency responses across the Lake Chad region. His work has strengthened disaster management systems and supported recovery efforts in conflict-affected communities.

Known for his strategic mindset and effective leadership, he has consistently demonstrated the ability to manage complex operations, coordinate stakeholders, and deliver impactful, data-driven solutions.

His appointment as Acting SSG is widely viewed as a merit-based decision, reflecting confidence in his capacity to enhance government coordination, improve institutional performance, and advance the development agenda of Yobe State. With his global exposure, technical expertise, and alignment with Governor Buni’s vision, Dr. Goje represents a new wave of dynamic and capable public sector leadership in Nigeria.
