Late Emir of Ngazargamu For Burial Tomorrow

The remains of the late Mai Ngazargamu, Alh. Tijjani Ibn Saleh Geidam, who died in Egypt on Monday, has arrived Damaturu, Yobe state capital, for burial tomorrow after Jummuah prayer.

The body of the late monarch was received at the Muhammadu Buhari International Cargo Airport ahead of tomorrow's funeral service.

Meanwhile, Gov. Mai Mala Buni CON, COMN, along with the Minister of Police Affairs, Sen. Ibrahim Giedam, and other traditional rulers were at the Government House Mosque, receiving condolences from distinguished sons and friends of the state.

Prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the late emir.

A statement from Ngazargamu emirate council said funeral prayers for the late monarch will be offered at the Yobe Mosque and Islamic center, Damaturu, immediately after the Jummuah prayer.

The Acting Secretary to the Yobe State Government, Dr. Mohammed Goje, has joined a delegation of critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Gujba Local Government Area on a congratulatory visit to the party's governorship candidate, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, mni, following his emergence as the APC flag bearer for the forthcoming 2027 gubernatorial election.

The delegation, which comprised political leaders, elders, party officials and youth representatives from across Gujba LGA, conveyed their heartfelt congratulations and assured their full support for the APC candidate.

While leading the session, Dr. Goje described Baba Malam Wali as a seasoned administrator and accomplished public servant whose emergence was a well-deserved recognition of his competence, integrity, and commitment to the development of Yobe State.

He expressed confidence in Wali's ability to sustain and consolidate the remarkable achievements recorded under the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni noting that his wealth of experience and deep understanding of governance place him in a strong position to advance the state's development agenda and improve the wellbeing of its citizens.

The Acting SSG assured the candidate of the continued support, loyalty, and commitment of the people of Gujba, stressing that the local government would remain steadfast in its support for the APC and its candidate in the forthcoming election.

Also speaking during the visit, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Chairman of the Gujba APC Critical Stakeholders, Hon. Ali Mustapha Goniri, pledged the total support of APC stakeholders and supporters in the area to Baba Malam Wali's candidature.

According to him, the same level of cooperation, dedication, and support accorded to Governor Mai Mala Buni throughout his administration would be extended to Baba Malam Wali to ensure his success at the polls and the continuity of progressive governance in the state.

Responding, Baba Malam Wali expressed profound appreciation to the delegation for the visit and the overwhelming show of solidarity and confidence in his candidature.

He described himself as the "first beneficiary and first product" of Governor Mai Mala Buni's administration, explaining that the Governor's confidence in him over the years had afforded him the opportunity to serve the state as Secretary to the State Government for seven years.

Baba Malam Wali assured the stakeholders that he would provide inclusive and participatory leadership by carrying everyone along, irrespective of political, social, or regional affiliations.

He pledged to build on the enduring legacies and transformative achievements of Governor Buni by consolidating ongoing programmes and implementing policies that would further accelerate socio-economic growth, enhance service delivery, and improve the living standards of the people.

He further called for unity, cooperation, and sustained support among party members and stakeholders across the state, emphasizing that collective commitment and shared purpose would be critical to preserving the peace, stability, and developmental gains currently enjoyed in Yobe State
