A BIG story that not surprisingly most tv channels on prime time have chosen to ignore. Will MP CMO answer the serious questions raised by this @IndianExpress investigation into land deals in Ujjain.
@ghoshamitav Amitav Ghosh writes a book. A Chief Minister reads it. A public policy idea emerges from it. That is how a knowledge society is supposed to work. More reading. More thinking. Less slogan shouting. @vdsatheesan#Kerala
When politicians can't fix the present, they start fighting with the past. Rename a road. Rewrite a legacy. Manufacture a villain. Meanwhile, history gets butchered and people are told to applaud.
I commend the historic decision taken by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, yesterday, on the solemn occasion of Paschimbanga Divas, which would be instrumental in rectifying a historical wrong.
Suhrawardy Avenue will now be renamed as Gopal Mukherjee Road.
For decades, a major artery of our City bore the name of someone who wilfully misused state power as a weapon, orchestrating the massacre of innocent citizens for sheer political gain. By renaming it after Shri Gopal Mukherjee, the fearless soul who stepped up as a protector-in-chief to defend and save thousands of innocent lives, finally restoration of historical justice will be achieved by honouring a true guardian and savior.
It's time, West Bengal remembers, corrects and honours the Real Heroes.
Most career decisions are not difficult because we lack information. They're difficult because we want certainty before we act. Unfortunately, careers rarely offer that kind of guarantee. My latest piece explores why so many professionals struggle to decide whether to stay, move, or change direction.

Happy Birthday, Rahul Gandhi.
In a political culture increasingly driven by spectacle, one of the Opposition's most important jobs is to keep asking uncomfortable questions. Agree or disagree with him, his role in India's democratic conversation matters. Wishing him good health and a long public life. @RahulGandhi
. #RahulGandhi turns 56 today. 17 years ago he was 39, at AMU a Muslim girl student asked him a bit uneasy question. He was far less experienced back then.
No notes. No teleprompter. No interpreter. Just pure, direct answer.

Funny how "the people's mandate" is sacred on election day and completely negotiable afterwards. If MPs are free to switch parties, voters should be free to decide again. Anything else is politics without accountability.
In the last 50 years, roughly 5 American Senators have switched parties from Republican to Democrat or vice versa.. a number that our politicians in India take one week to surpass... we are staring at moral bankruptcy... where votes cast by voters don't matter....

Yoga is one of India's greatest gifts to the world. It doesn't become bigger by mocking another faith.
But outrage sells better than journalism, so here we are.
MOVE OVER NAMAZ, YOGA IS HERE!
RED ROAD in Kolkata being prepped to host Yoga day celebrations.
On the left, image of how the State under TMC laid out a carpet to appease a faith totally warping the definition of secularism. Now, the state under BJP will rightly bend over backwards to put wellness on the mat.
The funniest part is not the defection. It's the assumption that voters are too stupid to notice. Get elected on one symbol. Switch sides through an obscure party. Keep the seat. Indian politics has evolved. Accountability has not. #VoterBetrayal
@RahulGandhi Agree, Mr Gandhi. A country cannot claim to be building its future while casually erasing ecosystems that took centuries to evolve. Not everything of value can be measured in investment figures or project costs. Some losses are permanent.
Twenty one people left home and never came back. A fire broke out. Lives were lost. Families were shattered. And like every tragedy before this one, there will be outrage, inquiries, promises and headlines. What never seems to change is the casual disregard for safety until disaster forces everyone to pay attention. That is the real tragedy. #DelhiFire #Accountability
@htTweets@MeSanjayy Students asked for accountability.
The system responded with PR strategy and reels. That tells you everything about how institutions function now.
@Nher_who What a civilisational achievement. China built high speed rail, semiconductor ecosystems and AI infrastructure. We proudly produced a generation that thinks harassing Muslims in public is “freedom.” And then people wonder why serious countries don’t take us seriously.
China spent years investing in technology, manufacturing and economic power. Meanwhile in India, politicians still win elections by keeping people busy over cows, Bakri Eid, food habits and endless religious polarisation. Sometimes it feels like we are arguing over identity while the future quietly moves elsewhere.
The most dangerous thing about propaganda journalism is not the shouting. It is how easily journalists now brand ordinary citizens “anti national” for asking legitimate questions. A student questioned CBSE marks. A TV anchor called him “Pakistani.” That is not journalism. That is political thuggery in a blazer.
A Class 12 student questioned his CBSE marks and was instantly branded “Pakistani” by TV anchors and online patriots. Now CBSE itself has admitted mistakes in the evaluation process. This is where we are as a society now. A student asks for accountability and gets treated like an enemy before facts are even checked. The damage done by this kind of hysterical nationalism is far deeper than people realise.

The ruling party supporters celebrates every election win like a victory for nationalism and development itself. However, the silence becomes deafening when Manipur burns for months, women are assaulted, children die, and the PM remains mum. If your nationalism only appears during elections and disappears during human suffering, then it was never really about the nation. It was always about the party.

The disconnect is becoming impossible to ignore now. On TV and in speeches, everything sounds historic, stable and under control. But outside that bubble, people are worried about jobs, fuel prices, rising costs, paper leaks, and a rupee that keeps weakening.
Many of us are not asking for perfection. We just want honesty about where the country actually stands. You can manage headlines for some time. You cannot manage people’s lived reality forever.
