@heymrsbond @eduleadership If she has given up on classroom management, her students are forced to use their own defense mechanisms with each other. The defense they know and understand that she apparently doesn’t and doesn’t care to
@heymrsbond @eduleadership Yeah I would argue that she was contributing to whatever chaos is happening at that school with her attitude toward these kids and lack of a desire to form relationships and help them feel heard AND SAFE…
@msschillax @athkat Maybe his teacher is drowning and behind. I know I was in the beginning. 🤷🏻♀️ Just a thought. Since I returned to teaching in 2017, all of my schools have had grades online for parents to access. Worked out for those who logged in and when teachers had updated grades.
@amelson@Joeycules Grew up in Waco & Gramma lived on BurNETT Ave in Waco. Later we moved to Liberty Hill and quickly learned how to pronounce our neighboring town BURNet. Now when we go back to Waco it’s hard to say BurNETT 😒
@SBethancourt02@tricycles@briskide@AITA_online I guess it’s kinda hard to profit when you’re not selling much. Prolly not many of us out there who would pay money for nothing but a place to nap. I’d think there’s be a huge market with introverts if one could find the right marketing strategy 🤔
@SBethancourt02@tricycles@briskide@AITA_online I knew this sort of thing had to exist somewhere. This was my biz idea if ever I had the courage to have a biz. Like a chill quiet place to just kill time - not eat or socialize - just rest in the middle of the busy city.
Hey @PEEPSBrand when y’all gonna catch on to day of the dead hype and come thru with some sugar skull peeps?? I’m not pushing exploitation/appropriation, I just want more convenient resources for my ofrenda!
@roryreckons This part is so true. I did this and was retraumatized as an adult. I stay at it cuz I want to believe it can still work but it’s so discouraging 😞
I've had a bunch of close friends leave teaching and start working in the private sector. Without fail, every single one of them says they are less stressed, their work/life balance is better, and their mental health is better, even though some are making less money.

@mrhooker I also never did extra credit. Making extra assignments for them meant extra work for me 😒 and they were often just looking for an easier alternative to the work they were given. I allowed improvements on all assignments - either redos or analysis of their errors.
@mrhooker what it did for some students was light a fire under them to get in their late work asap to improve their average. Then we were able to know what they know and go from there. It was also our policy to allow them to make improvements on any work that was a failing grade.
