ALERT: Maintenance worker stuck 130 feet in the air inside a gas station sign after his lift malfunctioned.

A man in Wilmington, Illinois, was working on a gas station sign off Interstate 55 when he became trapped in the sign due to a lift malfunction.

Fire officials responded and had a hard time finding a lift big enough to retrieve the man from the sign, as their equipment is usually only 100 feet tall.

They found a lift tall enough on a job site in Joliet and had the Illinois State Police escort the lift ot Wilmington.

They successfully got the man down after he spent nearly 5 hours trapped 130 feet in the air.
