You ever hear of “40 acres and a mule”? That was the best chance for that, via President Abraham Lincoln.

But they assassinated him and President Andrew Johnson (who was regarded as a Democrat under the National Union Party) rescinded Field Order 15 and returned to Confederate owners the 400,000 acres of land. “40 acres and a Mule”

The reason reparations cannot happen today is because it’s simply too late, too complicated, and there is no clear indication on who was affected and how far implicating each case is. Not every state participated in slavery.

How about Blacks who sold and owned slaves? Yes, they existed. Some owned hundreds and thousands of slaves.

And I hate to burst everyone’s bubble who are in favor of reparations— nearly every race or culture has endured some kind slavery or oppression at some point in history, even white Europeans.

Reparations would also discredit ALL the self-sacrifice that occurred during the Civil War. There were many white men that sacrificed their lives fighting to end slavery.

Our sacrifice to free slaves was the reparations. You’re welcome.
