Systems Change by Donella Meadows: for those of us who everyday human action and behaviour threaten our optimism and learning not to lean into pessimism but always staying empowered. Empowered in all aspects of our lives. My opinion , it starts with self.

The same parents who travel long distances to help/ grieve/ celebrate their friends?
The ones greeting almost everyone from church to the market? They model alot about community and friendship. Alot of us think we're too good for mundane things.
Let's be serious please.
In the Kenyan context , parents have shown exactly how to maintain friendships. Vikombe za Wageni existed for a reason. Visitors were expected and welcomed.
I think our elders didn’t do a good job at modeling how friendship changes from adolescence/young adulthood to 30s and beyond. A lot of us think friendships are supposed to look & feel like they did when we were in high-school & college. & thats just not realistic.
I got a ‘hey girlie’ text in the morning na screenshots of them flirting, talking bad about me and meeting up. all the times he said he’s disappeared to Nairobi for ‘work’ they were together.
I can’t be trying to build a kingdom with someone who loves the attention of villagers
This was the sadest thing they cut all the trees for the express way and the road etc and never planted anything back 😩😩. Some of us were there ‘back in the days’
@mariahsudi Again your limiting her to your own definition of bad girl as per societal standards that you mentioned. I don’t agree with this take. You have a nice day.
The point of the ‘bad girl’ narrative that Millie perpetuates is the freedom to do what you want and be what you want. Whether you indulge or not the point is allow women to have choice.
A lot of bad girls are actually conforming of societal standards.. they tick every single box, of good girl/ woman , people think they are bad or non conforming coz they are loud in certain places
@mariahsudi My comprehension is just fine. I am disagreeing with you and saying Millie is a ‘bad girl’ who has broken many rules not just the ones mentioned in that post that conform to purity culture.
@Nukta_@MeranSays I am genuinely afraid of how this trap has taken over to the point of being seen and belonging goes beyond your education. Saying aerobics is useless when you have medical education on benefits to moving your body as an adult is something. It’s really strange.
@mariahsudi Your initial tweet was saying Millie is not a bad girl because she is loud in certain places (according to certain societal standards) therefore she is a conformist. I am disagreeing with you because that is limiting. Being a ‘bad girl’ allows for choice as a woman.
@mariahsudi It depends on the lense in which you view conforming with. Not partaking in what society views as bad behaviour socially is a narrowed limited lense. If you listen to everytime Milly has mentioned being a bad girl it has gone hand in hand with having choice, whatever it is.
