The longest touchdown the Eagles scored that season was this 96-yard scoop-and-score by Joe Lavender, forced by linebacker Bill Bergey.
If you’re too young to have seen Bergey play, he was an Eagles Hall of Famer who arrived in ’74 and made an immediate impact, earning First-Team All-Pro honors that season and going on to make five straight Pro Bowls.
