Access to clean water is life-changing. I am proud to see Ireland🇮🇪 support the restoration of the Malica water supply, now powered by solar energy. This sustainable solution benefits 3,786 people today & up to 13,000 in the future, improving health, resilience and daily lives.
Amb. Patrick Empey & Niassa Governor reopened the Malica water supply, inactive since 2018 due to an unsustainable power source.
With 🇮🇪 funding, it now runs on solar energy, providing clean water to 3,786 people, incl. 186 IDPs, and up to 13,000 in the future.

I am honoured to inaugurate this Irish-funded Health Centre in Marrupa, alongside the Governor of Niassa. The facility will provide primary healthcare service to at least 9,586 individuals, including pregnant women, children, & the elderly.
Amb Patrick Empey inaugurated Nagir Health Center in Marrupa district, alongside Niassa Governor. Funded by 🇮🇪, it includes a consultation room, treatment unit, maternity ward, & pharmacy. It will directly benefit 4,260 people & improve healthcare access for 9,586 individuals.
I am delighted to be in Lichinga on the first day of my three-day visit to Niassa. I had a productive meeting with Secretary of State Silva Livone and Governor Judite Massengele. We discussed Ireland’s continued support for Niassa.

We had the privilege of attending the inaugural exhibition of the life-sized elephant made of wool, steel, & materials recycled from illegal poaching in the Niassa Special Reserve. We are proud to support this creation from the Yao Crochet Project & the Lugenda Foundation.
