From the businesses we've worked with its usually just a matter of convenience and fear of missing out. They always want the best and latest models.

Even if you can run a model locally thats 'good enough', people will always want the 'best' models which live in the cloud.

If your local model can wire up and simulate an esp circuit accurately, it means there's a cloud model out there that can do it atleast a 10x better. Wouldn't you (and your users) want to use that instead? People are never satisfied man...
