We discussed the need for international cooperation on AI safety rules and the role that @ifemergingtech can play in supporting legislators across the world.

I asked @EU_Commission Vice President @MarosSefcovic if:

🇬🇧🇪🇺🇺🇸 If the EU might invite the UK to take part in its Trade and Technology Council discussions with the US.
The EU answer is to work via the G7.

During the event in Mexico, she also outlined the intention to change the name of the Institute of AI to the Interparliamentary Forum on Emerging Technologies (IFET), reflecting the wider challenges now facing the world in emerging technologies regulation.
