An amazing piece of work on JMO wellbeing promoted at #Prevoc23. Baking, yoga and social events can only do so much if service, rota and training are in disarray.
Women in medicine still experience bias and discrimination at every level.
It is less often the case that women don’t see themselves as surgeons; it’s more often that they are simply not provided the same opportunities for the same performance as men peers. #ILookLikeASurgeon
Cracking start by @PeckyDeSilva at the @Macquarie_Uni Micro-gestures workshop. The representation of women in @RACSurgeons has just tipped 18% and research in media suggests that this is past the threshold where men perceive this as 50-50, and equity efforts falter.
@MTBandHeadache Hahah uh oh I definitely see those expensive and hard exams and training in the distance!! 😅 I'll try and focus on sleep and celebrations for now :)
A powerful day at the #CanberraSummit on #SexualHarassment in Medicine
Feels like the beginning of something neither performative nor rhetorical
A real privilege to be there & be a small part of the day
There’s so much more to do, but this is a start

#CanberraSummit A spectacularly challenging, thoughtful, and inspiring day amongst leaders of all fields across medicine, education, law, industry and research. Discussions aplenty, with solutions (and many more discussions) approaching. We will make medicine a safer place.
What a spectacular space to kick off the summit, and to share space with so many brilliant leaders across so many disciplines. An honour to attend, listen, learn, and hopefully contribute to meaningful change!

My first ever first-author paper is out! Also it's my 10th publication! Couldn't have done it without my supervisor Jeff!
A nice little book-end to finishing med school (in 4 weeks) 🥳🥳
