Despite all the online prodestations. Ex pat Iranians still get in behind the Islamic Republic of Iran football team when suits! Legitimise the regime. Actions speak louder than words. The opportunity was there to make a visible global statement and get in behind N Z. Show the so called hostages back home support for the cause of freedom overseas. Instead we saw the opposite from the ex pat Iranian community. Sad.
@Tarikh_Eran Solidarity?! In truth that would be getting behind N Z. The despotic regime thanks the ex pat Iranian community for legitimising their rule. As a Kiwi who has visited Iran. I am stunned at the level of support in the stadium.
If we dug further we'd see cross border intraregional tourism is driving these figures accelerated by Covid, Middle East Wars, Airport Security, Popularity of Cruises etc. The major growth in these specific intraregional numbers has somewhat skewed the end product. For example by Mexicans & Americans visiting each others country more rather than going to say Japan. A German driving to be in France or taking a two hour flight to Barcelona because there's no visa issues. Rather than coming to here in N.Z. Chinese travelling two hours to Japan etc etc. Take out intraregional figures/cross border travelers and the picture would be totally different. Probably down overall
@x_Aurelion@stats_feed It is. In and around 2020. Constantly hovers around 10 to 15 annually. Which is fairly impressive. If you took out cross border tourism. Examples: Americans/Mexicans Germans/French etc visiting their neighbouring country. Thailand would indeed be right up there.
Would be interesting to see the stats IF you took-out cross border tourism e.g. Mexicans & Canadians visiting USA or Germans driving 200km from home to be in France or Austria. 50% of U.S inbound 'tourists' are from it's neighbours which rather skews/inflates their figures. Same with Mexico i.e. 65% American.
@CoachDanGo 1. Why not just go for a swim? Do stretches and calisthenics etc. in the pool? If legs/bum are a weakness do more kickboard? 2. Alternatively fill a small backpack with something heavy, employ two poles and go out rucking?
@dpfdpf Wrap-around services = euphemism for a beyond redemption individual who has no agency over his/her own behaviour & requires the assistance of multiple Govt Depts to function at the same level as an 8 year old.
@GlamSlam72 I have a bootleg album called 'Iggy & Ziggy' which is a crude recording from a live concert. Features a naked Pop & Bowie on the cover!
@amazingmap Tiamana for Germany is as equally 'interesting' as Wiwi. When I was being taught I was told it meant Whitepride! Mana definitely is the the word for pride. Not too sure on Tia (tee-ah) There is a Gov't Dept here in N.Z that makes up official state sanctioned Maori words.
This was a photo I took outside Tehran when I freedom toured Iran via public bus system in 2017. It is emblematic of the infrastructure in the country. Half built highways to nowhere litter the countryside. Ceased work when budgets ran-out I'm presuming? Hence, with so much other roading infrastructure to work-on. The Karaj bridge pictured must be strategically important.
Come on a journey via my latest YouTube video (link below) No further than the wilds of a N.Z Kitchen or Sydney Department Store. Where I explain the origins of the name of the Kiwi culinary delight. The iconic Afghan Biscuit. Whilst at the same time treating with contempt & ridicule. False suggestions the name somehow referenced the skin colour of the Afghani people. Woke slur that has resulted in the biscuit being banned and re-named in some quarters.
